I don't have much time to go to stores to match foundations to my skin tone, and it seems that recently there are a lot of colourless/transparent foundations. Are they any different to primers?...

Has anyone tried Diorskin Icone's transparent shade?

And is Chanel's "limpide" (10) a colour, or is it transparent/colourless?

Anyone have any suggestions for transparent foundations?
:)

I don't have an "official" transparent foundation but I do use Dior Base de Teint which acts kinda like a foundation because it evens everything out and kinda gives me that flawless, dewy look you see from the catwalks. It's pretty transparent and it only comes in one pinkish tone so I think it can be used by different skin shades.

It's supposed to be used under foundation but I just use it instead of foundation. Love it :flower:

ahh.. and here i was thinking that limpide meant clear.
is it a very noticeable color?

I'll take a look at the uemura foundation when i go to covent garden tomorrowww..

limpide is one of many color names used for several Chanel products.. so I guess if you find a Chanel product that is very sheer it wont be very noticable whereas if the product has greater coverage limpide will be more noticeable..unless it is an exact match for your skintone. :flower:

so i suppose that diorskin icone is the only, truly transparent product then?

any other reccomendations for *very* sheer products?
i've been told chantecailles real skin is meant to be good. but.. 44 pounds! for a foundation!!! ahh.

Laura Mercier's foundations can be pretty transparent.. if used sparingly enough.

Armani Silk Powder Foundation is supposed to be a compact foundation, but coverage is more like a powder, almost none... however, it does provide a very polished look
