Its 1960s experiments also influenced such famous buildings as Rogers and Piano's Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. This exhibition presents Archigram to a new generation.

You also have Kosmopol not far from there, Fredrik is the owner of that.

If you go to Joseph, you have the Micheline House just 30 meters from it, one of the best places to eat in London, mucho dineros though.

Also very close to Joseph you have Kenzo
And the Collection is also very close (Bar/food)

i'm not fussy about food and i want to be relaxed, nothing stuffy...i may even decide to cook at some point...

elegant is always the key word and any variation of that...that doesn't have to mean fancy...but a bit special in some way...

...it would be nice to take my friend out for a good meal one evening since we're staying with him...maybe that seafood place would be alright...

what about indian...it's much better in england than ny...but we can get loads of good food here...i'd really like to get a cream tea...a welsh rarebit...loads of tea...some kind of pot pie...bangers and mash...more the traditional english fare...it's just very rare over here...and obviously the ubiquitous fish and chips...

i'm going to start making a list of things to do...thank you all for the great suggestions...they are all so helpful!...you're the best...

I was born in London so I can tell you...whatever you do DON'T go anywhere near Stoke-Newington...it's where I was born and JESUS the place totally sucks...

The whole of central London is a crazy fun experience though.

aww softgrey i'm so sad your coming to London after I'm leaving!! Everyone has recommended great places, there are some I wanted to go to but didn't get the chance. oh so sad

Anyway, just to add to the list:
Check out Steinberg and Tolkien on Kings Road. GREAT vintage stuff although can be a bit pricey however they do have some amazing finds there.

um...for some reason I can't think of others right now but when I do I will post!

Leicester Square!! its a big white booth, opposite Equinox and straight past the lil park bit.

the major designer boutiques are the ones in New Bond Street and Old Bond Street, you find them from Oxford Street, but you need to go down the correct road to reach them otherwise you'll be going round in circles and end up somewhere else lol

if i remember correctly, its the little road to the left of Debenhams! good luck lol

hmmm...don't even know if we'll 'do' harrod's...the food court's amazing...but it's a bit too commercial for me...reminds me of macys and bloomingdale's...two stores i rarely step foot in



leicester square too...feels like times square\
and picadilly circus is like 34th st

all areas i try to stay away from...



i read that the tate modern is open late fri and sat...that sounds pretty cool...

Just about every section of London has a "high street" (Kensington High Street, Marylebone High Street)...it's like what we call "downtown" or "Main Street" in the US. High street shops are typical stores you'd find in any mall in the US (Express, Gap, Banana Republic type stores). Hope that helps...

Oh I don't think anyone said anything about Selfridges...You should check out their superbrands department...I'm sure you've been to Bergdorf Goodman...It's some wot like that in the fact that they have mini stores within one big store...Some of the lables they have are,Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Chloe, Balenciaga, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and Marni this is all on the 2nd floor...I can't remeber which others ones they have I think there were a few more....400 Oxford Street, London W1A 1AB
