esiders...thx...i've always wondered that and your explanation was great!..

as for the books and mags...there is very little that we wouldn't be able to pick up here in nyc...and with the exchange rate being what it is...we're probably better off just buying here...

also, books weigh a ton... :innocent:

Well,if you are in need of a magazine affixiation just by a browse, there is always Magmabooks on Clerkenwell road, which carries most obscure titles.

Btw,we expect a full report :innocent: :P

As far as shopping, my friend and i found some really fun boutiques in Notting Hill, where I got some orignal items that I LOVE!

Now for food... I absolutly INSIST that you go to Garfunkel's (it's a chain, lots of locations, ill try and find you some and post later) and get the Treacle Sponge Pudding. It's unlike anything they have in the States and it melts in your mouth and its just heavenly.
mmmmm my mouth is watering....

thx for the suggestion harvz88

i have to say i'm not too sure about any place that has a separate children's menu...seems like a friendly's or tgifridays

that treacle stuff sounds yummy though :woot:

I know most of the food and the service there SUCKK... but trust me on the treacle pudding.

I stayed at Le Meridien on Russel Square, which was going through (an unseen/heard) refurbishing - the unrefurbished rooms were adequate and cheap.

I remembered something else, Softgrey. For a quick cheap bite, check out Wagamama - it's a noodle shop chain, very similar to our Republic on U.Square. IIRC, there is one inside Harvey Nick's.

If you'd like to visit an exhibition, there is the Vivienne Westwood exhibiton at the Victoria and Albert Museum (Cromwell Road) and the exhibition "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" at Tate Modern (Millbank). I don't know whether you know something about it so I'll post a short description:

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is the new exhibition by tabloid-baiting Young British Artists, Angus Fairhurst, Damien Hirst and Sarah Lucas. If you have been to the Saatchi collection, you will know what to expect, with large, spectacular installations, crude humour, and lots of pickled livestock, genitalia and cigarettes.

Not for the squeamish, or those possessed of strong Christian faith, this is art as Rock 'n' Roll: shocking, funny, offensive, and occasionally inspirational.

thx faust..wagamama sounds familiar, but i don't think i've ever been...

hi chance...welcome aboard...actually...the main reason i'm going to london is for the viv westwood exhibit...i was also planning to go to the tate modern while there...thx for the info...sounds like a pretty hardcore exhibit... i'll check it out... :woot:
