Trend Forecast S/S 07

I think that we will be seeing more of the 20's and 30's silouette, or I hope we will:blush:, with even more of the loose kind of boyish figure on women that focuses on the hips. I think it goes well with the casual & lots of volum-style that's been around for a while

anyways all we can do right now is speculate ^_^

saann if some of the resort collections are an indication of ss07 then you might get some 20ies vibe.. (see style.com the resort roundup pic. 117-125
anna sui, calvin klein, derek lam, dior, doo.ri, marc jacobs, rochas and stella mccartney)

between 91-94 , all the COOL guys and girls use to wear wide leg trouser jeans ,esp in toronto , ALL of em it was insane, that loose 501 style was more 88-90 but i also wore that around that time (91-95) ,but to be "cool", you had to wear "bags " as they were called in my HS , and you would wear it with sports logo shirt like Miami hurricanes or Wolverines , also animaniac shirts gone wrong haha....and funk hats ! Girls wore their bags with bodysuits (another trend which has come back)
Also boyfriend jeans of now , have a wideleg go to www.ae.com , they have them ! Also if you go to topshop , they have finally said on their website they are ditching skinny jeans for slouchy wide leg jeans, bell bottoms i dont like , the look of wide leg jeans is dfferent they are straight and wide ( not too wide , not rave pants wide , those look ridiculous)
disco, i use to wear super tight body suits with really baggy jeans that kind of cinched at the waist with a belt and the top part of the jeans was like a potato sack...lol
i think i had every possible color and style of body suits, strapless, v-neck, scalloped, scoop, off shoulder..
then if you pants dropped a little it was "sexy" because you could see your hip where the leg goes through the bodysuit..lol
that with like the news boy cap...
it was sooo fresh and new at the time...like paula abdul days or that show In Living Color's dancers " the fly girls", that j-lo was a member of..
I could see that coming back.

Personally I see the grunge style coming back in aswell, but yet more fitted and such, and I dont know why but more Boyish styles aswell... Maybe blues, greys, and reds... i dont know why im thinking this but yeah ha ha.

what about colored jeans?
remember that from the 90's? lol
i'm not sure if it would be more like pastels or the reds, royals, greens...purples

^^i agree with you. colored jeans are coming back in a big way. more along the lines of skittles, and less pastels. i think everyone is ready for a change from black, grey and dark blue.

yes it is the trend it is been a while they did their comeback the jumpers.. but they are hot ...

coloured pants were big in japan in the 90s
as well as PERMED HAIR lol

i havent got any trend updates since i posted on this thread some time ago..

i still think of neo minimalism, of sun bleached faded colours, fake whites and dashes of bright colour for contrast but less and less prints unless it's 'panel printing' which means non all over themes. If there, shine and embroideries should get far more delicate and discreet

volume should continue (channeling delicate romanticism through rushed fabrics, bubble sleeves & skirts)

jeans are getting even more dark and raw, i could bet on pinafores, aprons (sp?) and all-in-one jumpsuits

wedge heels seem destined to continue together with flats

coloured jeans have been and gone in england theyw ere in topshop months ago all in the sale now 75% off

well they are for this summer. i dont consider topshop too great fashion anyway

^ i wont blame you :D

coloured jeans.. hmm i'm not sure it can turn to 'directional'

minimalism and the 90's are back but this doesnt mean we'll take out clothes from ten years past and start wearing them feeling 'hip'..

its all very reworked and really inventive, its not a time trap, its done in a new way, and anyway we wont find anything which is supposed to be marketed next summer at the shops right now, it just doesnt happen ;)

I think that we will see alot of "skinny" high waist trousers for men...with a bit of a nerd hint...

I was imagining something like this...not exactly but similar...

From Central Saint Martins...

I like the grunge look going on right now, and I hope it lasts. And I know the soft feminine look has been done in recent past seasons (i.e., with the lace, bows, pastels, etc.), but I hope it makes a comeback with more of a classic, Audrey Hepburn, 50s feel.

By the way, stupid question, who decides what all the trends are going to be? I mean, they have to originate from SOMEplace, because it's not just one big coincidence that all the designers happen to have the same trends in their collections.

my point exsactly .. sorry what i was trying to stress was they have been way over done on the british high street this summer and have already been a pritty big trend that has been and gone .. i just couldnt see them coming around again so quickerly .. espesially in england :flower: :)

I love the idea of reworking a sort of grunge vibe.
Carefree, but even more so than anything bohemian - less planned, more creative - driven by a different music scene (as all art is interelated).

Loose hair - less styled than what we are seeing now (with the flipped out extensions), a more monochromatic face (unlike our obsession with dewy, highlighted skin), and a more muted/matte finish, but updated in something purely 2007.

I can't wait to see how this plays out.
...how can I start playing around with these ideas right now??!! That is the question - I am officially on a mission.
