True Blood

and oh can someone explain to me how tara summoned maryanne? I didn't get it when maryanne was talking about it

imo the Queen -as written on the show- was a dissapointment, nothing royal about her... all that yada yada, I just wanted her to shut up. I don´t mind ERW (I thought she was going to be really bad) but I´m not a fan either.
Pam looked fantastic, love all her lines and the interaction with Eric was great :)
Only one episode left :(

^^what I understood is that Tara summoned her by being in a ritual. I guess it didn´t help that she was high on peyote in the woods...

"Oh, ritual is a powerful thing. And calling forth that kind of energy has consequences."

yeah, i watched that scene with the "old" tara again and i'm SO happy we have the one we have (always forget the actresses name - rashida, nutiya? lol, sorry, something like that)
hahaha, love pam "that thing owes me a pair of shoes"

and what i didn't like about the queen was, that she had some good lines ("why don't you two just f-ck each other and get it over with?") but i didn't like how ERW delivered them...there wasn't anything fierce about her or threatening or even queen-like :(
Pam with her 1 minute on screen was more fierce than the queen in all her scenes put together

Exactly. She seemed more like a spoiled princess than a fierce threatening queen. However, her being so theatrical might've been totally in-character and not just ERW not delivering. Isn't she supposed to be really young? Blabbing away seems in-character for her then.

yeah, she's like 14 in the books. but i can't remember her being like a teenager and "blabbing away" (which was what annoyed me so much) i think sookie even mentions it once that at some point she actually seems like the teenager she was, but it was an exception.
but i might be totally wrong ...she wasn't really my fave and i never paid that much attention on her

I actually liked the queen. :ninja:
in fact it made me like Evan just a little more.

I thought The Queen was comedic and seemed powerful in that way Meryl Streep was in Devil Wears Prada, when she said to Bill "I insist"...she didn't raise her voice but he understood he had to obey.

I found last night's episode very disappointing. Maybe even the worst all season. It barely did anything to move the story forward. It was mostly boring filler. There were maybe two or three parts that benefited the story in any way. Tara annoyed the hell out of me with what an ungrateful idiotic b*tch she was. She's always annoyed me especially this season, but if I were Sookie or Layfayette I would have beat the living crap out of her. They risk their lives to save her stupid *** and that's how she treats them? I've seriously had enough of all the creepiness and weirdness of the townspeople due to Maryann. That storyline is so tired out and has been for several episodes now. Michelle Forbes does a brilliant job. She isn't the problem. The maenad storyline just never should have been blown up to the degree that it has been. She only appears twice in the book and only for a page or two each time at most for crying out loud. I'm just over the whole thing. It wastes time that could have been spent on more interesting stuff that they left out of the books. Its almost always just empty filler scenes. I mean seriously someone tell me in what possible way did that scene with the naked freak in the sink and that old creep mike spencer wanting Sookie to lay on the floor with him do anything to add to the story and move it forward. The only scenes I really paid attention to were the scenes with the queen and the one at Fangtasia. I didn't think ERW was awful, but she didn't blow me away by any means either. For the most part the queen feels like a spoiled teenager in the books granted a very sexual one and I feel like ERW gave that impression, but still something was just off about her performance. I'm not exactly sure what, but something was definitely lacking big time. And why didn't Bill just tell Hadley the truth when she asked about Gran? I didn't understand that at all. Eric's "they're like little teacup humans" line was the highlight of the entire episode for me! Seriously WTF was with the egg sitting in that nest on the bed at the end?

This was posted on the HBO - True Blood Twitter:

And I don't know if I can post this here, if I can't, sorry. But we can vote for True Blood in the Scream 2009 awards, in many categories.

i have the same feelings about the season stretching the maryann story, its become so annoying i dont even want to pay attention to it. evan was ok, i just hated how she said the lines, it didnt sound real coming from her, i just kept thinking of a script--stand, read. the entire scene explaining the maryann was so forced..

since there's only one episode left :( first off, i love this show but this season was a sad disappointing. i know shows never live up to the first season but it seems like it went a complete 180. the story isnt as interesting (bad writing?) and i cant believe jason is getting annoying, heck most of the characters are getting annoying  i really hope season 3 is better, it would suck for this show to jump the shark and lose its speed. i still think this show is better than most on right now but i lost that excitement i had to watch each episode (except this finale of course).

I thought tonight's episode was the worst of the season. there was too much jumping around and I just didn't get into it. Some parts were funny though.

Evan Rachael Wood was a HUGE disappointment to me. yikes she was bad...

Er I don't like her but I thought she would do a some what decent performance

it would suck for this show to jump the shark and lose its speed.

I feel Alan Ball is doing just that. Instead of adding new ideas or elaborating on the ideas in the books, He just skips ahead to the next book. Pretty soon, at this rate anyhow, he'll run out of books and ideas. I think he is going way too fast. I'm not sure if it's to get the basics from the book out of the way to just have original story lines or what. Eric flying and the bullet sucking seemed so anti climatic in the show. I don't think it transferred well from the books to the show. And the way Bill talks to Eric, that never happen in the books and takes away IMO a certain dynamic. I think what made Bill, Bill is starting to disappear.

Yeah I think Maryann switched her intended sacrificial lamb from Sam to Sookie instead after she was unable to get Sam and since Sookie and her stupid self keeps going willingly straight to her. I first sensed Maryann would change her mind after she was so confused/fascinated with what Sookie did to her with her hand last week and was unable to figure out what Sookie was. She clearly had never encountered anything like Sookie before. Last night when the queen was saying something about maenads always searching for that special new ingredient for the sacrifice that will finally make the god come it all just clicked into place for me and I knew Sookie was now be her new target to sacrifice. Well at least until Bill shows up with Sam that is. After that who knows what will happen. Everything that's been going on since they got back from Dallas is totally absent from the books so anything could happen. I just hope that the finale is way better than this episode was.

I think Maryann still assumes this ritual will fail, which is why she asked Lafayette if he can cook, she clearly intends on keeping him around like she did with with that other dude. Tara and Eggs are probably disposable...

My thoughts on the episode....

Evan is a really good queen. She has that underlying sense of insanity that I think will come out more as we get to know her a little better. It's funny how Bill changed when he was around her, even the way he talked was different, way more casual.

Eric in Tara's mum's dress

I think that might have been the first time Sookie has actually used the proper F word instead of "fudge"! (when she was telling Tara she was being f-ing stupid)

The woman who works at Fangtasia that is always screaming cracks me up

Hoyt

Eric lounging..... Ahh be still my heart  :crush: Heehee, teacup humans.

WTF he can fly? Random.

The Queen has a totally awesome bathing suit. And makeup. I think I like her  ^_^

Cliffhanger!
