Tweed Jackets

i love twwed, so i have some tweed jackets.

now i want a tweed coat...

I have several vintage ones, plus blazer jackets of other types of fabric, similar vintage.

What I really like are those corduroy blazers from the 1970s. Apparently my size was very, very common back then, because I can always find plenty of good stuff that fits nicely.

Here are my most recent acquisitions. @ $4.00 each, I could hardly pass it up.

Plus I have other nifty ones...the first two are hand-me-downs from an aunt:

This one belonged to my Grandma:

And this one, I bought at Oxfam for 8 quid:

This one, nobody in her right mind would wear, but I wear it:

i think we are off topic, this is about tweed jackets, not velevet jackets (which i somehow prefer) and true, grandma's jacket is fa-nta-stic

I've got 2 tweed jackets (black and pink) but I'm getting tired... I've spotted a lot of people wearing them so maybe I'll give them a rest ^_^

OMG  AYLI, the last blazer...the one 'no one would wear'...I would wear that every day for the rest of the year - it rocks!

I have a faun and navy houndstooth tweed jacket from Saks and I loathe it - I've worn it once.

Although I think they're pretty cool, I'm already growing tired of seeing them. Once the craze has died down, it'll be nice to see them pop up just once in a while.

I'm just digging on a fashion trend that for once is work appropriate.

Not to mention relevant since I have a lot of goofy old 1970s blazer jackets around. Plus, with jackets you can mix them with different pants, skirts, and tops and get a lot of looks out of a handful of clothes, which can be nice when you don't feel like thinking about things very much.

They were everywhere here this winter but I didn't see any I liked. I agree with others that velvet blazers are much nicer. I did end up buying two tweed skirts though.

I have two velvet blazers-one a deep wine color and the other black. I am not a big fan of tweed blazers though. They can be nice with jeans but I guess I have seen so many that I have gotten tired of them. :ninja:

Junya Watanabe padded tweed poncho, $1,500; over a Dries van Noten turtleneck, $495; and Slab jeans by Rick Owens, $338, all at Barneys New York.
