Newsstand & Subscribers Cover:

Wow, these turned out much better than expected! The fashion styling is too much with that patterned wallpaper and bright yellow font, but the cropping is perfect and Lea looks stunning. Like a model.

The first cover I like since Justine left. It actually looks like it could be one from the Lucy Yeomans era.

They've lurched from having acres of empty space on the newsstand cover to producing an eyesore.

This magazine is now coasting on the foundations that were built up by Yeomans and Picardie, while slowly eroding them. Imagine this cover on some other worldwide edition of Bazaar - it probably wouldn't be impressing anyone. People are still willing to give this edition some credit, but that'll run out at some point.

It's pretty. Did they crop the cover image a little bit on their website or Bazaar UK has a new format?

I noticed this new squarer format too but assumed it was just for Instagram, and if I can recall correctly, last month with Gugu Mbatha-Raw was the same. Guess we'll find out soon enough (I do sincerely hope not, though!).

A nice duo of covers, genuinely cannot complain about a single element and a vast improvement from last month. Absolutely love the warmth of the subs cover there, love the closeup of Léa, the overall composition and the red Bazaar masthead. Definitely my fave out the two, despite also loving the vibrancy of the newsstand cover. Yeah... won't be mad if this drops through my mailbox today!

I get the feeling they're trying to imitate their country house aesthetic in this shoot by putting together random background display boards to create a 'room' and pushing a big pot plant and a few bits of furniture into view.

This is such an eyesore, wow, horrible stlying, and they couldnt get at least one decent shot of such a beautiful woman, for their cover?! Nice!

Which makes me wonder if they have money troubles? Couldn't they shoot in a castle or French palace? Because they used to for random months when Justine was there.....

The set design indeed looks very cheap and just once again illustrates that it's never about how big your budget is, but how sharp the eye for your design is. This Zara campaign below could very easily have cost less in terms of props yet it's still superior.

Personally, I don't mind the set design as long as it's NOT an (in)famous grey studio backdrop. However, the thing that bothers me in the cover-story - the very same thing happened with Léa Seydoux & Elle China this month's issue! - WHERE the heck IS STYLING here, if the all we see are copy/paste runway looks from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2020 RTW?!!

I imagine she couldn't travel to a stately home.
The hiring of a house wouldn't be any different in costs from a studio and set build.

SO many brands are now 'full look' where you can't even add a different brand shoe or even jewelry. Anyone can be a stylist with certain brands.

I love the first cover but the editorial not so much, it makes her look very short

Thank God they found the budget to shoot at least one editorial in a field.

On Lea's editorial: Miu Miu rip-off and I just can't deal with H2T looks, it really takes away the creativity and imagination of sthe style director

Redheads editorial is absolutely amazing
