UK Harper's Bazaar November 2016 : Felicity Jones by David Slijper | the Fashion Spot

UK Harper's Bazaar November 2016 : Felicity Jones by David Slijper

Lovely to see her but the image is a little for a cover choice for me. It's the subscriber's by the looks of it, but even so, I'm not too keen. Hopefully she'll get a lovely newsstand cover.

Love what she's wearing, and the overall mood, but this is not even a subscriber's image. Too much empty space above her head. The newsstand cover will probably be better than this one, David excels at anything he produces for this magazine.

I'm glad to see Felicity finally getting some major covers, but won't exactly rush to read her feature.

It's got a strange charm, this shot. The more I look at it, the more I like it - but I certainly didn't feel like that when I first saw it.

Yikes... another missed opportunity.

And so much yes to that AHS promo comment HAHA. American Horror Story: Fashion

There's no life, no energy. Terrible choice for a cover shot, imo.

I like the setting, the styling not so much. The biggest problem is her pose imo, she looks like she just slumped on that chair...

^ I agree the clothes and her pose make her body look so weird. This is terrible, don't really know what they were going for here...

Thanks for posting the newsstands cover, it's really nice and vibrant.

oh my. It didn't get any better

+ Harper's Bazaar Art Supplement.

Well I think the newsstand cover looks gorgeous, much better than the subs one. I'd be pretty gutted if I was a subscriber, they once again got a raw deal, to be honest. Wanted to complain about Felicity's eyes, which looks a bit like Marlena's when she was possessed by the devil, but then I found it's actually her true colour.

The review sounds so, so, nothing exceptionally promising, but as usual I'm actually keen on the written features, this time clearly teased with the coverlines! They don't have nearly as many articles as Vogue, but compared to Elle, Marie Claire and Vogue, the actual writing is superior in most ways, and thoroughly researched. Funny thing about British Harper's is that they tend to secure extremely rare designer exclusives (such as Armani, for instance, who doesn't grant them willy nilly). I imagine this has something to do with Justine being from the posh set, maintaining solid connections with designers on the DL, and actually writing these features herself. If only she'd bulk the magazine up with more it.

Thanks so much for the uploads, Vogue28 & Honeycombchild! ;)

I agree with you Srdjan and Benn98, I love the newstand cover. You either love Felicity Jones for her English rose appeal, or you won't get her, so why not play up to that and the newstand covers do that beautifully (the pink eyeshadow is gorgeous on her). Excited to see the editorial since it's styled by Leith Clark.

I am intrigued =) and...those book covers are so memorable. Hard to miss.

I know this will be more up your street, have you seen it? November is the issue I most anticipate purely because of the Art supplements. It's always such a mission to choose only one cover, and I very often end up with at last two or three.

30 September 2016

The fourth annual edition of Bazaar Art – distributed free with our November issue, on sale from 4 October – features six exclusive covers created by leading contemporary female artists from around the world.

Etel Adnan, Rachel Feinstein, Sarah Morris, Cornelia Parker, Celia Paul and Taryn Simon have all created cover artworks. A specially commissioned portrait of Florence Welch by Helen Downie, better known as Unskilled Worker, also features as a limited-edition cover of the November issue, available at Harrods and Selfridges from 4 October.

All seven cover artworks, alongside another eight original pieces by internationally renowned women artists, will be auctioned online on Paddle8 in aid of Women for Women International; click here to read more about the sale.

From a portfolio introducing the pioneering female artists who are harnessing the creative potential of technology to interviews with Rachel Feinstein, Maggi Hambling and Marina Abramovic, Bazaar Art is a homage to the talent of women in the art world today.

Bazaar Art, published in association with Bentley, is available free with the November issue, on sale from 4 October.

That is very cool, thanks :D I am new to the magazine world, I don't really come across foreign (ie UK) magazines in person often or easily. But I have seen the recent special with Duchess Kate on the cover in a window.
It's not too early to find the November issue? I can wait a bit and then shall go back to that store with Kate a few months ago.
