UK Harper's Bazaar : The 2009 Covers

I voted for the second VB one - I'm not her biggest fan, but she comes off good in high fashion photos (rather than someone like January Jones, who I love, but although she's stunning in most images she's a bit stiff in front of a fashion photographer's lens imo)

I liked Uma's and Claudia's, but then I realised they both reminded me of VP covers - Anna Selezneva's last year and Madonna's 'dans le yeux' one from 2004 respectively. I know the links aren't obvious, and I could just be being paranoid, but I can't help it influencing my opinion...

It has to be Lily's because it had a great 70s feel to it, it was a strong use of red without it being intolerable, and it made me see Lily in a new way.

I wasn't at all fond of Natalia's "village idiot" one - it's the hay in her mouth that makes me think of it that way.

In the end I went with Masha's cover because I loved the styling, colours and layout.
I'm surprised Kate Hudson's cover doesn't have any votes yet. I though it was quite appealing.

I couldn't decide between Natalia's and Alexa's cover but I ultimately went for the latter, I love Natalia's cover but I also felt like I've seen that same image of her about a dozen times before while Alexa's cover was a lovely surprise and a perfect ode to summer.

I voted for Masha's because she is one of my favourite models and her cover was amazing. Natalia's and Claudia's were great aswell. Really good covers from Bazaar this year, even better than Vogue's I might say.

the UK HB covers this year have been beyond fantastic, and the content the same. It's not just their covers though, their cover choices have also been excellent, surprising and unique. When they did cover a genuine hollywood celebrity they did it in a refreshing, new way. And they also covered a lot of models this year, including that gorgeous Lily Cole cover and the recent Claudia Schiffer one that blew me away. stunning. i voted for Claudia's.
