How can Harpers and Elle produce such amazing monthlies, yet MC can't?

On what planet have magazines like Marie Claire ever been on the same level as Harper's Bazaar and Elle?

I have no idea why people are acting like this cover is the worst ever. It's not that bad.

Do you not remember the ELLE redesign when Lorraine took over? It was scrapped after 3/4 issues.

And Harpers before Lucy took over was very stale.

I guess what im saying is, if Elle and Harpers can be reinvented succesfully, then why cant MC?

UK Marie Claire always have the most interesting articles, and although I'm not their target audience, it's such an interesting read...
