UK Vogue February 2009 : Cheryl Cole by Regan Cameron

Magazines HAVE to sell copies.
Putting someone like Cheryl on the cover, guarantees them good sales for that month.
Why do you think Kate Moss does 2 Vogue covers a year? They have to keep the circulation at a level to please advertisers, who ultimately pay for the magazine.

I imagine that Victoria Beckham did extremely well for Vogue last year, so them doing Cheryl is a win win situation.

Who cares that she isnt a model or a 'vogue girl', she is one of the most famous women in Britain at the moment and i know for a fact that EVERY other glossy in Britain put in a request for her.

I think that this cover is very US Harper's Bazaar. I think it would be better if she was smiling.
Let's wait for march :innocent:

Agree smile would be ok... I like Girls Aloud a lot... but look at their videos... they all look fierce most of the time... fierce is today's sexy and I don't really agree with this concept... Yes soon we will have Jade Goodie (sorry for spelling) on the cover of Vogue cos she sells magazines as well... God, I used to love Kate Moss very much but all this PR around her is just ridiculous and she does not even look good these days... I don't know... I think we are all just a little bit Zombiefied with the whole celebrity hysteria...+ Agyness totally overexposed... I am sure Claudia Schiffer would easily sell magazines too and importantly she looks great... There're some loved models in the UK (not only British) who could do well as well... Vogue should promote some natural beauty and not Photoshop achievements only... it is just so superficial and not interesting...

Why so serious Vogue UK?

I don't mind a celebrity cover when it is done well. There is nothing wrong in my opinion with someone like Cheryl or Victoria appearing on the cover of a magazine as long as they look nice and the cover itself is well done.

That said I think this could have been a much more interesting shot. I don't feel as though Cheryl looks liker herself in this - she's is a beautiful woman but here she looks a bit wane and pinched. I think that for a pop star the cover should always strive to be a bit lighter or more creative. Were inundated with celebrity pictures so when a star is on the cover of a Vogue it should stand out. This picture doesn't stand out to me.

this is a dreadful cover. why not a british model? lily d, jourdan or karen elson for example? even another kate moss cover would be preferable to this! nothing against cheryl cole; i am tired of celebrity covers in general.

Karlie, again? Her last editorial for Vogue UK was a disaster.

The preview for Anna J looks pretty good though.

And I think this will be too
Anna J picture is interesting, but I'm more interested in the styling, especially because of the YSL outfit.

It's Anna Selezneva as far as I can tell, not Anna J

And how long are Karlie's legs in that shot??. It can't be real, her ed looks quite interesting.

I know I shouldn't, but I always, always get Anna J and Anna S mixed up. I don't know why, they don't even look that similar, and I don't even like Anna S.

Northern Star needs to see this, he will be happy.

 Haha yes I am Miss Dalloway :woot: 'cos I really didn't think they would give her the cover in the end. Unfortunately it could have been a lot better:unsure:
Cheryl doesn't really need any airbrushing as she look gorgeous in print anyway. Nevertheless it isn't terrible as some have said. Actually I like it better than last months effort with an aneamic and washed out looking Cate Blanchett.
I would personally have models on every cover of every fashion mag.....ain't gonna happen any time soon......so well chuffed for Cheryl.B)
Also this word 'fashion icon' is just getting out of hand anyway, and is bandied about to just about anyone, and Cheryl is exceptionally beautiful so a cover well deserved IMO.

Can't believe someone said she had a Scottish accent.:ninja:
She's a Geordie and proud of it.:p

Forgot to say looking forward to Anna S. editorial:woot: but what the hell is this with Vogue UK and there sudden love affair with Karlie Kloss.:ninja:
