UK Vogue October 2021 : Zendaya by Craig McDean

IN contrast to most people here. I've mostly enjoyed every cover she has appeared on and I generally always like the styling. Never seen anything wrong with any of it.

What a letdown man! So boring: the hair dresser should be fired just for that to start up with.
The dress is ok but it sure does make her look older
and the general feeling of the editorial feels like no concept was thought out, nothing stands out: she looks pretty but it's a missed opportunity 100%.

Craig McDean: Hey, Ed! How many images for the October cover-story do you need?
Edward Enninful: Three. Including the cover, of course.
Craig McDean: Only three?!!
Edward Enninful: Yeah, man. Hanna Moon got five (including the cover, of course!) for the September issue; besides, this magazine is no longer about fashion. It's about inclusion, diversity and equity - POLITICal correctness, you know. Plus, according to GOT, W̶i̶n̶t̶o̶u̶r̶ Winter Is Coming... if you know what I mean!
Craig McDean: [Having no clue, obviously!] Sure, man, no problem…

She looks gorgeous as always, but the composition is lacking. This feels kinda low budget, Zendaya is the type of celeb that could've handled a full on fashion spread. Missed opportunity.

Indeed. It kinda looks like a cover from Vogue India or Singapore because of the poor styling.

Ive said it before, and I will say it again, the Art Direction on this magazine is dreadful.

If this was a VOGUE US Cover the photo would be better as a cover image but the huge expanses of Brown backdrop and tiny writing make it look dull....

I think their art direction is a hit or miss. Yes, this cover is blasé, but their January, April, and June covers this year were beautiful.

With that being said, I still prefer this over her first Vogue US cover.

Sometimes you forget you are watching a Vogue cover instead of InStyle, Grazia or something like this...or is it the other way around? i'm so confused right now.

I'm hoping the subscribers cover is a version of the above, rather than the original image with the oh-so-glamorous diarrhoea-coloured backdrop.

I've never seen a cover of her that I like.
Usually the styling doesn't suit her. She looks like a kid playing dress-up.
I actually like this. She looks direct and I don't hate the dress in print.
The hair and backdrop could be changed, but this is about as good as can be had with 'Global Vogue' these days.

She looks beautiful of course, but this is really bland and run of the mill for me. In every possible way it’s forgettably pretty.

There's always something missing with her covers, this concept looks like it would have worked better with a model than celebrity.
