Umbrellas

they come matching "owner - pet" umbrellas.....maybe new fashion?? ;P

I have a big bright pink umbrella that really stands out from the crowd and the best part is when it's not unfolded it's so small it fits in my bag.

Target has really cute umbrellas. I have one with randomly colored disk looking things all over a black background. They come in different sizes and styles too.

I just wanna ask how did we get to this?
It looked like it would only work if you stand directly over the dog, if thats the case... I don't want to be that close to my pooch when its droppin' a duece

We have a great thread about bubble umbrellas around here somewhere...

I've lived in London for over six months and still no umbrella. I just hate when you are walking and it's windy and they blow out if that makes sense....I want one that doesn't do that but don't feel like spending so much on an umbrella...i'll probably just end up getting a cheap one from M&S or Boots one of these days...

I live in Los Angeles... So there's no real reason I own an umbrella, but I fell in love with an adorable black lulu guiness umbrella with her signature little scotties all over it. It's perfect because it fits so easily in my travel bags so I can take it with me!

The Umbrella

Is it me, or is it totally neglected these days?

It's fast becoming a forgotton style accessory in my opinion..

I'm not sure what it's like elsewhere, but i've always assosiated the Umbrella with London or New York...like in the old Black & white films...

It's always been a gentlemans thing for me, but i think the image it sends out these days, is certainly a more instinctive feminine one...which is a shame...

It's certainly a more mature thing to carry an Umbrella, has a certain elegancy to it...I don't think it gives a sence of professionalism, but it can certainly help you notice a figure when they have an Umbrella...

When I was at school the head teacher used to walk around with an Umbrella when it rained, and we had to line up, getting wet in the rain, whereas they stood perfectly dry under their Umbrella...it gave them a sence of position over us...just something as simple as an Umbrella...quite an interesting way to look at it...

Or when you're on your lunch break, and it begins to chuck it down, and everyone is scrambling around, looking for cover...then all of a sudden in the corner of your eye, you see a calm figure, strolling along without a care in the world under an Umbrella...

I just really like the idea of the Umbrella right now, maybe because it's beginning to rain again, but I just feel they can create a significant presence much more easily than any other garment or accessory...

I agree, umbrellas are a neglected accessory for men. It's a shame. A man with an umbrella always makes me think of John Steed (sigh).
