edit #1/cover: jen aniston by alexi lubomirski. jen has a weird intense bronzer on throughout. lots of outdoorsy beach malibu stuff. much nicer naturalistic shots than the gross recent vogue aniston olympiad shoot by testino. its odd cos alexi learned everything he knows from testino, yet testino's muscular jen was unattractive, and alexi's more authentic beach shots portray her in a better light, yet the bronzer is so over-done its still not too good. pretty average celeb edit. the glam cover in silver versace is also ok, but again shes so bronzed its fake, but the hollywood hair is decent. vogue had jen in dumb workout looks for Shape issue and these sloppy J Crew type looks are only somewhat better.

edit #2: freja shot by alasdair mclellan in fall chic looks mainly black. brana wolf edited this is the only significant edit in june bazaar. freja is almost always a strong girl and shes very good here. Im a big fan of mclellan and his work is also fine here. these are sleek & chic fall pieces and this is the only story that looks like a classic bazaar edit, in a great bazaar ish one would see five or more of these. only important edit in ish. 7.7 of 10.

edit #3: richard burbridge shoots natasha poly. poly may have looked great 3 years ago but she is slack & over here, poor model moves. burbrdge's studio shots are functional but beat bollinger styled unimportant fall looks & this story is just a mess, gross, nothing. I suppose you could still squeeze poly into some swimsuits and it would be good but this is not in any way. yuck. 3 of 10.

edit/story #4: fall's new looks by kristina o'neill. 16 page story with a hundred fall runway looks,. I'll have to study this further there seem to be some good girls & trends, bazaar always does good survey type stories like this but its not a typical edit, its a survey of fall trends from runway. sasha, vlada, emina, daria, snejana stand out but I will have to study this further. looks like.... 6.7 of 10?

edit #5 joan collins & linda evans shot by terry richardson. might be worst edit of 2006. joan looks ok, but linda is plastic surgery monster. terry did nothing just repeat chiche dynasty catfight. also editor's letter pic of terry w/joan & linda is just as scary,. terry & linda are equallty frightful humans.
and terry can do SOOO much better than this with real models in HB & every other magazine. washed up model - couture collector- trophy wife tatiana sorokko styled, its the worst editing in a fashion magazine in 2006. fire sorokko now. rating 0 of 10. worst edit of 2006.

more fashion: 'best dressed:sporty stripes' strong 1 page with maybe best spring look, stripes [french marinier bateay etc] on lindsay l, sienna, winberg.

* 7 page sarah bailey jeans special. similar to big vogue jeans thing in may I think? this is about as good. lots of good ideas & info here. deserves further study, if youre not too tired of jeans stories now.... its worth a look. 7 of 10 I guess.

* 4 pg matthew williamson profile. interesting personality I will chk this story out. a few nice MW portraits by bardo fabiani, and sean cunningham took 2 even better fashion week pics, MW w/raquel, freja & rhoda; and sienna backstage. nice lil designer feature. 6.7 of 10.

VERDICT: theres lots of show pics & trend news & little idea features here but what this mag lacks is core edits. only the freja edit was really good. aniston was bad in vogue shape ish AND THIS IS ONLY SLIGHTLY BETTER COS MALIBU SNAPS ARE a nice setting. the poly edit is gross, shes over. the richardson/sorokko/dynasty shoot was the worst of 2006. i liked the jeans article & the stripes & williamson pieces were cute but its just not all together as a major mag shld be. if you just want idea featurettes maybe youll like this more but I want extensive arty photos with top models and theres nothing here except freja. very disappointing bazaar from a broader perspective. ONE SOLID THUMBS DOWN​

Indeed. And from the scans so far, it seems as if the mood and the clothes presented in the cover has nothing to do with what's inside.

Ok so I wasn't thrilled with the idea of her on the cover, but I got the issue today and read the article. . . I take it back. I didn't get a good look on here, but in person the pics weren't that bad. I loved the Derek Lam sweater dress she had on too. I don't love it but I don't hate it, just indifferent.

I take back what I said before about the ed. It's absolutely adorable.

I think Jen looks best natural, like here, than all posed and "fashion-y", like in Vogue.
