The second shot could`ve been a hell of a lot better cover. The editorial looks nice but I don`t get the direction of it. Atleast she won`t be in Vogue.

Harper's Bazaar made Anne Hathaway, a very gorgeous girl, look ugly.

Yes, my first impression is that the second shot does feel more appropriate than the first one - that's an outfit that needs some space if it's going to work on a cover, but instead there's a column of text fighting with the detail of the fabric. Hmmm, I'll have another look later on and see if it grows on me...

I love Anne but the selected the worst shot for the cover...

now i serisouly think Glenda should retire... there's no concept around the magazine anymore... very erratic...

She looks amaaazing in that Miu Miu frock. Not a big fan of her cover; the face isn't working for me.

Agreed. Harper's need an injection of fresh fashion blood. Someone younger, current, with an eye for what makes us crave more. Shala Monroque would be perfect, imo, since she's no longer at POP.

While the American edition is always going to be more 'tabloid' than other versions of the magazine, I would like to see an editor who can combine typical Bazaar elegance with some genuine excitement, who has a proper sense of fashion history while knowing how to focus on the moment.

she has a new flic coming out where she does a british accent, so I presume that's where the whole american gal in uk concept comes from, but the reasoning and execution is pretty clunky

The cover image is not most flattering face wise, but i do appreciate the fact that its not their usual over the shoulder in a white dress spiel! The spread is quite lovely actually.

I agree and the editorial looks quite lovely.

I really like Anne but that cover is a bit annoying when I know they could have chose a better shot. Anyways Kate Moss's name is on the cover maybe she's in it!

I agree with a lot of people they made her look odd in her editorial but the cover is gorgeous, I prefer this one over the 2cd shot of her edit. But there isn't any link between the images, no concept and the fashion isn't that amazing, except for the last shot. Anne is an amazing actress and a lovely girl, they could have done a better job but the cover image is, I agree, one of their best in a loooooooong time.

Assuredly there's a reason for the second shot not to have been used. Particularly with the cover shot potential the image has.

Well, red is a more successful colour for cover sales than black, even if the second shot is better in other ways.
