US Harper's Bazaar April 2010 : Demi Moore by Mark Seliger

I just think that extreme commercialisation of everything in this contemporary world we live in worked as a downgrading factor for everything including human values, art, fashion, etc. Don’t want to sound like Dalai Lama wannabe but sometimes it is heart breaking... What about creating something new, making a statement, taking a risk... I think all these factors faded from Fashion and fashion magazines which makes the whole thing rather boring and frustrating for some of us. Anyway...

Bazaar is so boring... it's literally coming close to surpassing InStyle in terms of middle class housewife appeal. :yuk: The sad thing is, the covers are more boring than the content; they usually have articles they don't advertise on the cover that are quite interesting, and the editorials are alright.

The only thing I've noticed on the cover is yellow banner
Without it the cover was boring, now it's annoying too.

I agree with KhaoticKharma. If they used other cover lines, referring to the articles they feature inside the magazine, instead of the usual "Fabulous at Every Age" and all the rest, it would be a lot more interesting for the readers.

I've reached the age where I no longer care about being fabulous...

Surely you've reached the age where you're naturally fabulous, no advice needed.

I feel like I've seen this a million times before. Does everyone at HB draw a blank when they are discussing new concepts for the magazine?

same as usual
love bazaar but they should call it fabulous at every age. its on the cover in every other issue
wtv am still a subscriber

Every time I see a thread titled " US Bazaar " , I know what to expect but I look through the thread anyway.... maybe I just want to torture myself.
I know everyone gets tired of hearing the complaints, but .....
You'd think even the people working at Bazaar would be tired of this.

FABULOUS AT EVERY AGE is here again.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I love it. If there's one thing US Harper's Bazaar can't be accused of it's being inconsistent. They deliver every month.

So it's Demi Moore this month. I see. Well, no I don't actually. I like Demi, but I would not have known this was her if I hadn't being told so.

On a serious note, though, I'm slowly getting tired of slamming US Bazaar every month for their bland, standardized covers. Perhaps we need to have one of every kind to be able to make the distinctions. It only saddens me that it's US Bazaar of all magazines today that's playing the part of the Bore. It feels like the gradual undermining of a long and prestigious history. But that's where we are either way, and my expectations have been adjusted accordingly. One can only hope that there will come a day when they release a newsstands cover that will exceed my current expectations rather than meet them. (I've been run down by Glenda, can you tell? :P)

How many blue and white themed covers do they put out every year? Seems like 5 or 6...there are many many other fabulous colors to choose from, folks!!!

Bazaar normally have dull yet appealing covers for everyone. But you can't deny the content is always worth the purchase! I've been collecting on this since August 2008!

I'm sure that the subscriber's cover will be gorgeous, as per usual. So can someone explain to me why they continue to use these horrific and generic smiling celebrities as their newsstand covers? Honestly, would the average magazine buyer really prefer to purchase this cover of a celebrity barely visible behind an overload of text and cheesy catchphrases to something more original?

The thing that bugs me about Harper's Bazaar covers is that "lesser" fashion magazines such as Marie Claire and Glamour have been consistently having better and more interesting covers than them for the last little while.

I wish HB would give the covers a bit more consideration.

Demi Moore has the best PR people in the business. (Jessica Biel is a runner up)
She hasn't been half relevant in over a decade and still manages to get all these covers (and get invited to present at the Oscars).

As for the cover, I don't like it.

I don't really get Demi. She doesn't do anything for me.

It's a same old, same old cover from US Bazaar but I've actually begun to just not care anymore. The content is usually pretty good, so I'm prepared to take the covers without too much complaint. Let's hope what's inside is a nice April treat.

Oh.So i guess there's no difference between a Glamour cover and an HB cover now.

I really like it. It's so summery and cute. Demi looks stunning. It could've been better if they changed their taglines.
