These editorials are laughable. Out of Africa. Ground-breaking concept executed in a way which more closely resembles the benign, say nothing, eye-glaze inducing editorials produced by the likes of The Edit or Porter. The infection is spreading. Nick Barose is one of the most forgettable make-up artists around. I remember seeing his work in ELLE over 10 years ago and wanting to scrape the pounds of make up off the models face. This terribly tacky, not to mention tired beauty gimmick proves it. Oh and Bella by Gigi
Bella's shoot looks like a hodge-podge of poorly stitched together moodboard images rather than a full fledged, fleshed out shoot. A bit of Avedon, Hiro, Sokolosky, Laetitia Crahay in Chanel, Natalie Portman for Miss Dior. There's nothing tying all of these various influences, looks or images together into a cohesive editorial with it's own message or vision for today.
