US Harper's Bazaar November 2015 : Lena Dunham by Nathaniel Goldberg

Lena pays tribute of that kind of photos from the 60's. It seems to be the best cover of US HB on this year.

The Daring Issue? What's daring about covering up the face of your cover star, who is famous for not adhering to certain physical standards of attractive?

Although I will say it is rather daring (but in a galling way) for Bazaar to continue using Terry Richardson 5 years after allegations towards him began pouring out.

Don't really pay much attention to US HB, so maybe they've been using him recently and I haven't noticed, but I don't think he was used in this issue. Nathaniel Goldberg photographed Lena.

Lenny Letter is interesting, Girls is culturally significant no matter how much people who don't personally like the show would like to believe it's not so, and Lena is known for being outspoken or daring (which may be more of a reflection on her peers and our society than Lena herself, but that's neither here nor there). Cover looks like a throwback, Lena looks cute, I like it.

^Terry apparently is not in this issue, but he was in the last issue, and basically most issues. Not okay.

Norman Jean Roy's fur story boasts with a nice atmosphere. Ola looks like a modern day Anna Karenina in the opening shot. Cannot believe the couture feature ended up the worst of the lot. The stilts makes it look like some ANTM challenge.

'ANTM challenge' lol, exactly!
Taylor & Ben look great even if the ed is a bit weak.

US Bazaar's editorials tend to have a sparse, empty feel, but when it comes to winter ones, that works in their favour, because then it looks uncluttered and clean. I can still remember a story they did in 2005 with Sessilee Lopez in the snow.

What a beautiful story!

I actually love "Couture Style" the most. It's a cool way to show the clothes in a studio. I also thought of ANTM, but I don't think it's a bad thing anymore.
