US Vogue August 2005 : Madonna by Tim Walker

YAY it's Madonna. I think most US Vogue covers are boring these days but I look at it like this - I'm paying for the contents not just one page, so to me it's the inside that counts. But I do agree with liberty33r1b cause this is Madonna -Style Icon, not Faith Hill.

I'm surprised that Lola and Rocco are there too. I thought after Vanity Fair she wasn't going to put her kids in magazines.

Can someone tell me why there has to be a theme to the issues? Like the Shape Issue and the Age issue. Do the other Vogues do this. I know UK doesn't but what about the others?

PS Who is the model who has cancer?

HI ! love the cover too, exept for the writing too large that would cover the face of Madonna !
Lourdes looks good and I like the privacy defending cut (lol) but I don't see the other child as Rocco, it seems like a girl for me !

Also the Power Issue. I don't like these either. My guess is that American Vogue is the only one that does these *special* issues. Why, oh, why

totally agreed. i just doesn't look like a cover for vogue, not at all.....
i remember the french vogue cover with madonna last year (august 2004), which was WAY better....

Its going to be a theme??? The only thing on the cover that really interests me is the model with cancer... the rest doesn't look too promising

And on Madonna... well, the article is supposed to be on how she has "reinvented herself for the final time", so I guess we will have to read and find out why the cover looks so... child-friendly...

i cringed when i read madonna's name & vogue together.....
but this is beautiful...

i may be the only one...!..
but i love it...
she looks demure and chic....
natural and happy...
and lourdes is such a beauty....

Ohhh, thank you so much for posting! I suppose the cover sort of fits Madonna's recent role as a proper mother, but I'll have to see the editorial to judge whether or not the photoshoot could have been better.

On a side note, Lourdes will be one beautiful woman.
