^Thank you - it looks like Cindy Sherman is a really good fashion photographer. And AW's letter was interesting - the pic of Bettina looks a bit battered. How are those Vogue archives doing?

That's the only part of the issue I was interested in (the Letters)thanks MMA :flower:, so great to see such positive feedback for the issue and the model cover

^Oh! I almost forgot to scan Bettina

Well, that's a body. Not sure the face goes with the idea of a supermodel. I mean, even in those days....they had movie stars that are the stuff of legend. Maybe it's just an unfortunate photograph with regards to her face...the Vogue obsession with Coco Rocha became even clearer (not that she isn't a wonderful model regardless).

christy has the type of beauty that never seems to fade. i remember seeing her on an anti-smoking commercial talking about losing her farther to cancer so i know she doesn't smoke. i wander what her secret is? please nobody say she's had cosmetic surgery.
Oh yeah, I remember that commercial -- at the beginning she said something like "Two people in my family have stopped smoking...." and then she held up a picture of her deceased father, and then she started crying. Sad commercial. :(

But personally, I think she looked better when she was younger. I never liked the shape of her mouth, but nowadays her mouth looks even weirder. She looks almost like The Joker.

^ haha me neither. It's somewhat true though.

Vogue seems to have a bad track record with weirdly photo shopping their celebrities. I thought they've been doing ok the past couple of months, but every now and then (like now) it takes me a minute to recognize the celebrity because she doesn't look at all like herself.

Does anybody know if this issue is out in the UK yet?

I just got my copy today and was pleased to see that there was no large sticker reading 'Amercian Edition', and that the price had decreased.

I don't think either of those things have changed for me, I'll have to look again, now that you've said that - although whenever I bought magazines from stores which had special import arrangements, they did come without the sticker and were a bit cheaper. Tower Records in Dublin used to have the direct US versions of magazines, rather than the export ones.

Fantastic issue!

I read it front to back and was delighted by much of what I found... I marked many a page.

First of all, Christy's story was a great and inspiring read (as usual with her). Unlike others, I was and am not bothered by the cover.

The bit on Cindy Sherman was well-deserved... she is an artist on all levels.

Zimmerman's spread was great, too. Loved that they featured the DK New York chocolate-and-black belted dress - it is to die for!

and that the price had decreased.
I had a look today, and on the issues I see, the Comag sticker says £5 - I hadn't even noticed that the price had gone up this month. Wherever you're buying your US Vogues from, keep going back...

I can't quite bring myself to pay £5 for the August issue, although it did seem to have a few fairly interesting articles.
