US Vogue August 2023 : Olivia Rodrigo by Théo de Gueltzl

Ooh, yikes. Could someone with a physical copy kindly take a picture of the magazine's spine? I'm really curious. I mean.. I have catalogues with more pages. That's so embarrassing.

...and all that tat will no doubt make an unfortunate appearance inside the August issue of British Vogue too. My tolerance for this shared content strategy is at an all-time low. A grand total of 98 pages is all that American Vogue is worthy of nowadays, given the staggering amount of unmemorable fashion imagery it produces.

this issue is indeed January issue realness.

But on the first glance I enjoy this issue a lot more compared to last year's August issue. Pretty sure the Vogue World ed will be longer in UK Vogue.

If you guys are interested, the Anthony Sekaloui ed is a studio ed with white background, kinda David Sims-y.

Scott Trindle's ed reminds me of the ed Clash of the Tartans by Josh Olins and Lucinda Chambers in US Vogue years ago.

The Vogue World ed is like Mario Testino's British editorial for US Vogue in Oct 2017 but with Charlotte Wales' photography filter.

I got a copy today and was so disenchanted to see that the issue has less than 100 pages after having a double summer issue. AW has single-handedly destroyed the US version with her constant political crap, cover favorites, stale artistic vision and most of all her resistance to retiring.

I've been getting US Vogue since I was 18 years old in the 80's and it's never ever been in such pathetic shape.

Why are the other Vogues (UK, Australia, etc.) so much thicker than the US edition? I wonder about this all the time. Is this because designers are putting less ads in the US version? I'm hoping someone on here an enlighten me as to why US Vogue is always so small and the other country's editions aren't .

It’s not about AW, it’s about the market. Us magazines are all thin , the same with Brazil and Latin America. It’s not about vogue or Anna, it’s happening with all magazines in this market

I've said it before. Anok is a striking woman but she's not a very good model. If she's asked to do anything beyond looking pretty, she falls flat. The ed would've worked better had she adopted a haughty, icy, uptown, I'm above it all attitude.

Thank you, my thoughts exactly....the concept demaned a different set of skills...that she didn't deliver here...

^ better than the ad campaign. so good to see Elise Crombez!

In last year's August issue, out of 5 fashion editorials, they shared 2 editorials with British Vogue.

This year, they shared 4 editorials out of 5.

Probably next year they'll share cover story and articles too...

it is a pretty pathetically thin issue but I had a change of heart on the Olivia Rodrigo story once I read it. I really like the images in print alongside the interview.

So random and conventionally boring... This is not a Vogue cover story or a Vogue story....
