YIKES. It's official -- I'm not renewing my Vogue subscription come September. Wow... they really sold out, no? I'm thinking of spending the extra money on Vogue Italia or Paris Vogue... something that actually has some worth!

I could not agree more. What a horrible cover.

While I don't have any problem with her being called Donald Trumps New Bride (cause she is, and most women would love being called ____'s New Bride when they get married) but it's a really, really bad photo. The cover in general is just bad. Her head is covering one of the letters and that just looks weird. The colours are so weird, it's all round tacky. So busy you know. You just can't put everything friggen thing that's in the magazine on the front of the cover, so don't bother.....
Anyway, my verdict: sucks

The cover is blah (what's with the weird veil??) but I'd want to read the article. She's actually supposed to be very bright, speaks like 4-5 languages.

Generally yes you might have a point there clueless..but Trumps other marriages and divorces have been so highly publicised that the "new" part is more likely to be read as "lastest" as Helena wrote...and most women don't like to be reminded that there was other mrs_____ (and might still be)

hah. donald trump's new bride..awful awful. I'd absolutely hate for that to be written of me.

US vogue finally puts a model on its cover, and it has to be a hiderous creature like that! tells you something about that magazine really

here's some scoop on the dress/article, from today's WWD:

Apparently not every bride-to-be is bashful about showing off her wedding gown before walking down the aisle. Melania Knauss, the 34-year-old Slovenian and future Mrs. Donald Trump, will hit newsstands this week gracing the cover of February’s Vogue in the embroidered confection by John Galliano for Dior Haute Couture that she will wear for the Saturday nuptials. The white duchesse satin fitted gown is made from almost 300 feet of material, with a 13-foot train, and crowned by a 16-foot veil. Knauss is also the first bride to appear on the cover of Vogue in full wedding regalia in its 115-year history, according to a spokesman. The issue includes a 14-page feature by fashion news director Sally Singer that trails the apple of the Don’s eye over the year as she makes her wedding arrangements, part of which included attending the Paris couture shows last July with Vogue editor-at-large André Leon Talley to shop for the dream dress. No word yet what the gown cost the bride and her billionaire fiancé, but sources do say the cover coup was dependent on Knauss agreeing to reveal the dress prior to the big day, bouncing “Million Dollar Baby” Hilary Swank from the coveted spot.

I just watched Good Day Live, and they said her gown costs $100G. Wow.

I agree that it kinda sounds bad calling her Donald's new bride. I saw her this morning on the Today show. Andre (of vogue) was also on and they had a huge poster of the actual gown on here (sans the veil) and I thought she looked stunning. I think the details of her gown are exquiste (sp?). I personally liked it a lot.

Melania Knauss Picks Dior Gown for Wedding

I wasn't sure where to post this, but...

By SAMANTHA CRITCHELL, AP Fashion Editor
NEW YORK - When Melania Knauss walks down the aisle to marry real estate mogul Donald Trump, she'll be wearing a sumptuous gown by Christian Dior.

Knauss chose the gown during the haute couture shows in Paris with help from Vogue editors Sally Singer and Andre Leon Talley.

She models the voluminous strapless gown — which took 550 hours of labor just to do the embroidery — on the cover of Vogue's February issue and Singer chronicles the shopping trip over 14 pages inside.

"Melania definitely got what she was looking for: a dress that would be absolutely special and a dress that could only be worn to one's wedding," Singer told The Associated Press Monday.

Knauss will marry Trump Saturday in Palm Beach, Fla. It will be the third marriage for Trump, host of the NBC reality show "The Apprentice."

Knauss, like many brides-to-be, thought she wanted something a little more modern, but eventually realized she wanted a more theatrical dress, Singer said.

"The dress also had to hold its own against the massive ballroom they've built at Mar-a-Lago (the Trump estate in Palm Beach)," Singer said.

The room is in the ornate Louis XIV style and the visual theme of the wedding is white, gold and jewelry — meaning diamonds.

Singer, who will be a guest at the wedding, said she couldn't begin to estimate the gown's price tag. "Some of these couture gowns, they are showpieces. No one really expects someone to order them. ... I'm sure it cost a lot."

The Vogue fashion and features director said she "believed" Trump had purchased the gown because she couldn't imagine Dior giving away something so expensive, but she didn't know the arrangements.

Knauss, 34, wasn't intimidated by the hunt for her wedding dress or the ceremony of haute couture. "Most women when they encounter fashion — whether it's in a magazine or in the mall or watching the Golden Globes — they compare it to what they can wear. Melania isn't like that, probably because she was born beautiful," said Singer.

Because of the sheer volume of the dress, the magazine reports, Knauss decided to sit on a bench for dinner because a chair wouldn't work and change into a new outfit following the traditional first dance with her new husband.

That dress is a sexy and sleek tulle number by Vera Wang.

and the pic...

I kinda feel sorry for Ivanka-can you imagine your Dad marrying someone who looks more like your older sis? I wonder if they get along. If they do, good for them...they can go shooping together. I assume there is a pre-nup??

I loved the dress ever since I saw it on the couture show...why can't she just do the full runway version, you know...nude bustier, drag queen make-up, skyhign platforms, beauty mark and all. I mean the dress is fantastic and she should really respect the designer's original version, plus she is already a clown so the entire ensumble would be very appropriate.

I dont like the dress.
I dont like the VOGUE cover.
I think it's completly tacky.
I guess VOGUE have sold their sole (manolo?) to the Donald.

VOGUE US........your'e FIRED!!!!!!!!

I was just watching Access Hollywood. The dress weighs 50lbs and she has the tallest Manolos at 105cm?? Is that for real??

she hardly counts as a model.

If you google her name you can find a jeweler that she has modeled for and magazines that she has been in. She's no Kate Moss but she's still a model.

When it comes to modeling you're Either are one or you're not. There is no scale of being a somewhat model. That's like saying my friend is hardly an engineer because he's only worked for small companies. It's not like you have to appear in x amount of magazines to be called a model
