Is it just me or imgbox isnt loading anymore

Anna is just phoning it in now, doesn't even pretend like she hasn't turned Vogue US into Vogue UK. So disastrous. Zero reason to have Adele on both covers. Where's the escapism in Vogue any more? Give me a good fall editorial with a model. So over fashion magazines, they are dying out because there is better content on Instagram.

The solution is so obvious.

Instead of playing catch up with Instagram, offer us THE ALTERNATIVE. Give us what Instagram does not.

I think editors would be surprised to see their magazines in demand again if they made that shift.

Tragic issue, read the Cabaret article out of curiosity and now I just want my five minutes back! The editorials are a "no comment" type of situation. I thought the upholstered looking Balenciaga gown was from an older season, all his collections blend together....

Exactly, completely agree, it shouldn't even be a contest -- the endless resources that Vogue has at their disposable, and this is what they are turning out now? Garbage.

Anna Wintour's antiquated view is DONE. It's wonderful that there's diversity in Vogue, but when it looks like it conforms to some sort of checklist, it has the opposite effect of feeling natural. [Might be a result of the fact that their staff is still largely a bunch of over-privileged white women -- they're not fooling anyone.] Also sick of the liberal leanings, and I am a liberal.

Bring fashion back. Get with the times. Lose the political messages. Stop turning out this throwaway content that nobody is ever going to look back on.

This is an American magazine, it has been British Vogue 2.0 for one too many years.

Can anyone possibly defend Anna at this point? Seriously curious if she has any fans left.

She's like a legendary football coach that nobody wants to accept is past their time, and then let them take a thing and sink it forever.

Get rid of her before it's too late. Well past the time for an American Editor in Chief.

She needs to leave but I hope you know what’s coming after is a continuation of what’s going on.
Nobody is doing alternative but rather complementary…

We have the time we are in to blame but tbh, I’m tired of fighting against the times. I have reached a point where I can appreciate a magazine for what it is.

What I want to see in magazines is beauty. Interesting people wearing interesting clothes in interesting locations shot by good/great photographers. It seems like this era has a different agenda.

It’s maybe time for niche magazine to redefine their vision of niche. The new mainstream is the old underground…Maybe it can be the way around.

There are not a lot of content in US Vogue anymore, I counted that there are only 75 pages of content in this issue. It has been like that for the past 2 years.. sometimes we even only got around 60ish pages of content, where years ago they can churn out like 150ish pages of content most of the months.. I understand that the more ad pages they have the more content pages they will print, but still.. now I can read a US Vogue issue cover to cover in less than 2 hours. It's clear the print product is not their priority anymore..

I also noticed that like UK Vogue, US Vogue stopped putting price of the clothes in the editorial pages as well, I wonder why?? I am already sad when they stopped putting the fabric description of the clothes on the editorial pages, now they omit the price too? I know it's small stuff, but I kinda like those small traditional things that makes the magazine feels like.. a magazine.

It's crazy how there's literally nothing expensive looking about this magazine anymore.

Sad it’s such a deliberate move on Anna’s part.

It’s such a strategic move to appeal to the masses. And the masses do like this blandness as they feel it’s all relatable now. The commoners were never familiar with the high standards of the old guard, and just want to see immediately accessible, colorful, Victoria Secret-level of cheesy and family-appropriate “sexy”; reserved and conservative outlet basics with logos/monograms; clear headcount— and this now includes big women cuz nearly half of Americans are obese now so overweight women in Vogue is just a norm for the masses. And all packaged in a non-challenging, SM-relatable aesthetic. Subscriptions may be or going down, but American Vogue is likely gaining more followers and more traffic on their digital platform. Thus the neglect to print on their part.

The people that have taken over once prestigious high-end retailers are the same: With their mid-range department-store backgrounds whom are only interested in optimizing profit margins. They don’t know, or don’t care about creative storytelling/worldbuilding/dreammaking of the highest standards that set high fashion apart from the outlet/big box masses. And American Vogue is the perfect summation to that neglect of once high standards. (You know, when I started in fashion a decade ago, a photographer I first worked with dismissed the team’s lack of imagination with “standing around and sitting around doing nothing is not a concept”. In 2021 Vogues and with this new generation of [un]creatives, it’s the only concept LOL…)

(…Have to give credit to Vogue China [and GQ China] for at least putting in the effort to conjure the spirit of creative exclusivity— which apparently is an evil term now in the realm of fashion. High production value; models that look like models; and inspiration imagery that dares to transcend the mundane level of SM sensibility. These Chinese editions may not always work, but at least they do look expensive.)
