US Vogue Special Edition Met Gala 2015 : Rihanna

sorry, I just can not look at this because that omelet yellow is hurting my eyes

So far from being a fan, in fact beyond sick & tired of seeing her everywhere, but there truly wasn't anyone else to put on the cover! She stole the night, the dress was Epic, and she wore it perfectly.

in principal i like this look but it's just so ugly aesthetically that i can't  obviously it would have been a bit repulsive if kim or beyonce was there instead so i'm thankful for that at least

Unlike some others that really seemed desperate for attention on the red carpet.

Are you being ironic? She is attention seeking made flesh, the only difference between her and the other three queens of desperate is that she actually managed to outshone them all with that pathetic dress. Regardless i think we need to thank Rihanna for probably killing the p*rn look as an attention seeking device, for now on i think we can expect the "Big Fat gypsy wedding" style will be adopted as per immediate effect by the others.

I'm really curious as to who buys this magazine. $11 for red carpet photos and supposedly insiders scoop?

...i would never in a million years support this magazine by buying this.....but im also curious who would buy this? and support this?
Imagine paying the $11 to see photos you can see online, or read stories/articles which you also can read online for free.....so those that buy this obviously must support Vogue and Anna B)

Anna needs to stop making Kendull x US Vogue happen. She is NEVER going to be a real supermodel, period.

Honey, look around, she is becoming one!:D
And no, Im not her fan, I think she is stunning but lacks a lot of things a supermodel must have, but sadly, she is the one rising to the top wether we like it or not.

That's unfathomable to me. I mean if you must have these red carpet photos in print you could pay $2-3 and get them in a US Weekly type magazine. For such a smart businesswoman, sometimes Anna has the worst ideas (see Mens' Vogue too).

I feel this should've been folded into Vogue as a supplement. Same with Vogue Living. If she started these spin-offs as supplements it might've worked.

Re Mens Vogue, I believe they promised the magazine would be published twice a year when it was canned. That never panned out, did it?

No, I'm not being ironic. What many fail to realize is that the Met Gala is at heart a costume ball (that's why there are themes and a dress code, this year it was 'Chinese white tie'), so how fitting that Rih would wear something so amazingly dramatic while being able to pull it off so effortlessly.

If you want pretty and safe, that's what the Oscars are for, if you're looking for trashy attention-seeking looks you have the Grammys, VMAs, etc. But if you're looking for unbridled fashion, that's what the Met red carpet should be for.

She's a celebrity with a PR machine working overtime. That's a far cry from a top model (let alone supermodel) and frankly it really shows in her work. I think this past fashion month has proven that Kendall is no top model.

Anna Ewers is closer to the definition of a top model and most of the general public doesn't even know her name.

I miss when Vogue used to publish the best dressed edition. I bought last years Met Gala issue and I don't even think I flipped through it fully.

Regarding the Kim cover controversy, I'm sure she will be featured inside, they can't have everyone's name on the cover and I'm assuming placing Kendall and Robert Pattinson's name is a way to nab the Teen Vogue crowd

She's an attractive woman, but I think the only reason she's soaring in popularity is that she's tied to the Jenner/Kardashian empire.

Seriously, if she had no ties to those no-talents, would she even be in magazines or would she be modeling at local mall fashion shows????!!!!

Even with her famous family support, the number of shows that she walked in Milan and Paris is a solid proof that she is far from being a top model; there is no doubt about that. But oh well I do think that she is a pretty girl that might do well in Miami... or Asia and do commercials for like air conditioner

Even the shows that she booked in NY… most of them were cast by John Pfeiffer. It gives an inflated number of people who she has seemingly won over. Also, it's not like Diane von Furstenberg or Michael Kors have anything against reality tv and I wasn't aware of the ties that both Vera Wang and Alexander Wang have to Kimye.

The assertion that Anna Wintour (along with Katie Grand and Karl Lagerfeld) is trying to make her happen is accurate. Her appeal seems to be going over like a lead balloon with a lot of the industry's movers and shakers. Ashley Brokaw isn't checking for her and it doesn't seem like Miuccia Prada, Nicolas Ghesquière, Phoebe Philo, etc. are either.

Really, most people outside of TFS wouldn't know or care to know the difference anyhow. So it is simple enough to churn out some headlines about her being the hottest thing going in the fashion world and most will believe it.
