Valentino S/S 2012 : Bette, Fei Fei, Maud, Zuzanna & Clement by Deborah Turbeville

Wow completely stunning campaign:woot:, they absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one. Not only is the collection sublimely beautiful but the scenery is perfect utterly romantic:heart:, couldnt be a better backdrop for t he clothes. Definitely one of the top campaigns of the season, and easily my favorite Valentino campaign ever!:D

The rest of images is absolutely stunning !! Fei Fei and Zuzanna are stars of the campaign <3

Every single image is lacking - the clothes aren't impressive enough to have such a basic line up of girls on a naturally-lit and empty background.

This. I'm looking at the pictures and I can't say I'm much more excited than about the first one posted few weeks ago. If the advertising campaign is supposed to sell the clothes, this is its problems - these clothes aren't saleable for me (and dare I say, some of them are plain atrocious).

Bette is my favourite, but im so happy for Maud!! stunning campaign

I agree. The way the girls are posed are very Turbeville. They are not supposed to make sense or natural, but more in response of the backdrop in which they are in. The team at Valentino must be very impressed with the Haute Couture spread Turbeville did for them in Vogue Italia to also give her the campaign.

Out of all the shots, my favorite is the first 3 pictures. I think for this campaign, Valentino is not going for the girl looking for the high gloss luxe, but I guess the thinking girl who will see the beauty and the character of these photos. These are not the usual girly fare Valentino campaigns have been serving.

I was quite surprised that Fei Fei seems to be the leading girl, but she did really well. I totally agree that she fits the serene mood Turbeville usually goes for here.

Oh this is going to set the tumblr tweeners ablaze.

This campaign is simply perfect to me. Great angles, enchanting chromatic plays, and the cast is as fantastic as the clothes are. Fei Fei looks movingly beautiful.

This campaign is AMAZING!!!! :woot: is perfection!!
Everything is perfect, the place, the models, dress, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.
I love Fei Fei

Beautiful location & beautiful models, but this is really not that good, imo. They really don't have any chemistry whatsoever. I'm all for diversity, but I was really hoping that Bette was the star of this. :(

Zuzanna is just perfection in this. Her face is so much stronger than everyone elses. This reminds me of the UK Vogue editorial where the girls are in all red in the mountains. I don't think Valentino's clothes are strong enough to be shot in such a nostalgic mood.

The models have no motive - they look as if they have been told to do what they like, and though you'd think this would create something natural and beautiful, it just looks awkward - they appear dislocated from each other in very flat images.
This would be the one image with the most potential, entirely due to the perspective, but unfortunately it is ruined by the lace espadrilles and the wearer's expression.

very much so this

i don't know how people love this, but hate the Givenchy campaign

Fei Fei steals the campaign, I loved how they chose her as the star of it.

I'm in love  All girls (and Clement) look flawless.

For me is Bette the star. Not just because she is one of my faves, but her profile is gorgeous. She stole the show at the valentino s/s 2012 show and now also. She got a very romatic look that suits the campaign.

Well @street a licious: those are complete other campaigns. Whole other set up and models. So don't get why you brougt that up.. and we all got different taste..

Just perfect!!! Awww the amazing dresses against the ruins I absolutely love love love this ad campaign!!

Although I can see where the negative comments are coming from, and on first glance, seeing all the pics it looks slightly underwhelming......on closer examination it's the details and the textures that resonate.
Turbeville brings a dreamy, yet rich vision to her presentation of this very romantic collection.
As for the girls, Maud's lack of experience stands out a mile, but she doesn't really spoil anything.
No it's not gonna be the campaign of the season, but it's right up there.

they feature a similar concept of literal 'mise en scene', kind of randomly placed in a scenery. except that apparently this features girls that people seem to love and Givenchy featuring Gisele, who seems to be disliked by anyone who 'gets' high fashion.

basically a double standard

difference being that the Givenchy images (especially the ones with Gisele, and this is coming from someone who wouldn't call himself a fan) portray much more of a mood that fits the clothes and complements them, while here it's kind of random how 4 girls in nude lace dresses are placed around a ruin. apparently waiting. for Godot perhaps?

as it seems, people love this campaign mostly cause they like seeing 'their' girls here.

but that's a different story again
