Valentino ‘Roman Palazzo’ F/W 2021.22 : Zendaya by David Sims

I do prefer the Roman Stud campaign but this looks very promising, I like the direction.

Dreadful. The bag is disgusting. Looks like Michael Kors.
PPP’s Valentino has turned into Michael’s Kors, mostly. The refinement of his first two or three solo collections is long gone. He’s really not a whole lot better than MGC over at Dior, tbh.

And what is the obsession with Zendaya??? She is not expensive looking.

I think you nailed it. The obsession with Zendaya is because she's relatable and accessible, same as Michael Kors. A brand that makes 3x as much as Valentino. I'd bet the higher-ups at Valentino are trying to commercialize the brand a bit further.

the last 2 shots are the only good ones and it’s the ones they used for British Vogue July 2021. very cinematic.

Valentino's campaigns had much more creativity and better art direction during Maria Grazia's tenure; those photographs were exquisite.

Pierpaolo's Valentino tries way too hard to be "of the moment" and "cool", and as a consequence it has lost its identity, and let's be honest, taste level.

I'm sorry but these photos look like the Guess by Marciano ad campaigns. Shockingly Bad art direction, styling, everything. And why did they start including that horrible V logo above the "Valentino"? It looks cheap and vulgar.
