Vanity Fair March 2011 : The Hollywood Issue by Norman Jean Roy

Michelle Rodriguez?
I don't know any latino actors and actresses that are "Hollywood" enough for Vanity Fair
I heard 'Four Lions',(UK) with a multi-racial cast, but then again, it's not a Hollywood movie,...
also 'The Secret in Their Eyes' was good (Argentinian movie) and "Biutiful" (Mexico/Spain) were great movies

Michelle Rodriguez only did Machete last year I think, and if they place her on the cover because of that movie then I´d start kicking and screaming :p

If the cover is about sexy and young actors, none of the cast of 'The Secret in Their Eyes' deserve to be there, not because of talent but because no one is younger than 40. I haven´t seen Biutiful, but again Bardem is european just because he speaks spanish doesn´t make him "latin" in my eyes. And no one knows actors from latin movies... maybe Gael Garcia Bernal could have been on the cover, he did Letters to Juliet and has a few HW movies coming up...

Ultimately, VF wants to sell magazines. They´ll only place very recognizable/popular actors on the cover. Unfortunately, there are no young latin/black very recognizable/popular actors in HW atm...
That said, I don´t know why Rashida, Olivia, Garrett or that blonde woman are on the cover. Anthony has a lot of movies coming up, maybe VF is counting on that he´ll be big this year...?

Can anyone explain why Rashida is feeding a cub?:lol:

Koko - that blonde woman is Jennifer Lawrence - nominated for Oscar for leading role in Winter's bone and she's this year's Carey Mulligan in terms of breakthrough and quality. :)

I'd make it a point of including people in the most popular movies, and people nominated for Oscars:

Um that is exactly what VF did whether you are fans of all the people on the cover or not.

And no one is disagreeing with you with regards to VF not being known for racially diverse when it comes to the Hollywood issue.

More pics inside that I saw on E News include -

Ben Affleck - looking so hot.
Annette Benning - flawless
Nicole Kidman - stunning
Halle Berry - same old with the legs
Elle Fanning & Hailee Steinfeld - cutie-pies.

and just as stunning and hot as the rest

Well Halle Berry and Hailee Steinfeld made the issue, too, so I suppose that adds to the "Vanity Fair isn't racist" side of the argument.

It adds too, but definitely doesn't settle it sigh

I'm surprised Paula Patton was never on the issue. She was in "Precious" and has "Mission Impossible" coming out this year.

Way better than last years, but it's so repetitive.
I feel like they use the same theme for every Hollywood issue.
And that baby Tiger (Adorable) is so random.
They could have just gone with a jungle theme or something.

Best part for me is the picture of Helena Bonham-Carter! Love it!! :D

Hailee and Halle in side the issue From E!News Not sure who the other girl is with Hailey.

March 2011: Leighton Meester

Age: 24. Provenance: Fort Worth, Texas. A ways away from the Constance Billard School: After three-plus seasons of Upper East Side bitchery on TV’s Gossip Girl, Meester has let her purty drawl come to the fore in Shana Feste’s feature Country Strong, playing the aw-shucks, boots-and-mini ingénue to Gwyneth Paltrow’s aging, Mindy-McCready-rap-sheeted superstar. “I read the script and I thought it had an All About Eve kind of feel,” Meester says. “She just wants to be close to her idol and be best friends. She never gets that. It’s sad. It’s an endearing thing about her that she’s not a total b*tch—she does mean well.” And further broadening the portfolio with ... lead roles in three new films out this year: a travel comedy called Monte Carlo, a campus thriller called The Roommate, and The Oranges, an indie drama in which her romantic interest is played by House’s Hugh Laurie, 27 years her senior. “They have a real connection and rapport. And Hugh’s a really good kisser,” Meester says. “Just kidding—that’s such a delicate subject.”

Leighton's photo is so cute=)))but her face looks weird O_o
so exiting to see Elle Fanning

* YOUNG HOLLYWOOD/PEOPLE OF COLOUR *

Mindy Kaling
Hailee Steinfeld
Aziz Ansari
Donald Glover (not Danny Glover)
Halle Berry
Jay Chou from The Green Hornet
Ludacris (just did a great job in No Strings Attached)
anyone in "For Coloured Girls"
anyone in any Tyler Perry movie ever (is Tron or Country Strong really that important? Country Strong!? Did anyone even see this film!?)
That guy who plays Abed on Community
Anyone on SNL i.e. Jay Pharoah or Fred Armisen or Andy Samberg, the sexiest man in the world
I come up with more every second.

Write me an essay on why:

Olivia Wilde
Rashida Jones (she's on the same exact show as Aziz Ansari)
Garrett Whoeverthef***
Jennifer Lawrence (she's been in ONE movie, Hollywood magazines like her because she's white, blonde, and pretty)
(and even though I love her) Mila Kunis

Are any more important than my list of actors above and I'll take your opinions seriously.
How is Jennifer Lawrence anymore important than Hailee Steinfeld?
GMAB.

The reality is if Vanity Fair wanted to put people of colour on their cover they would have.
But - they don't. That is all we are saying. Facts.

BAHAHAHAAHAH. Did you really just say Ludacris in No Strings Attached? And Tyler Perry? Really?

I really like the cover, so much better than last year's one. The setting and styling are gorgeous.
Leighton's picture is great aswell, although her face looks a bit off. I'm still very happy to see her though.
