Versace S/S 2005 Milan

This stuff is so nasty... I liked the checkered "80s" suits, though, so what do I know? :P

I think the suits, the bags and some of those dresses that do not show boobs and high-up splits are absolutely wonderfull!

lost in nj and theory...i can honestly say that as much as you can't understand why some people don't like this stuff... i don't really understand the appeal of looking like a rich hooker...because that's what i see when i look at these collections...

it's not being pretentious or pretending to be fabulous or whatever...it's my honest point of view and what this stuff looks like through my eyes...

that said...the coral and starfish print is an old one from when gianni versace was still alive...
i have an old copy of british vogue with linda evangelista wearing a swimsuit and stuff from that collection...i think they also did dishwear with the sea creature coral print...

looks like donatella's looking into the archives that gianni left since her own stuff is not doing well at all... just look at the sales figures if you have any doubts that most people are over the whole versace thing... :innocent:

According to the style.com review, she was indeed looking at the archives....

I was pleasently surprised by the overall softness of it. No bondage, no heavy make-up. The first look, that lilac draped dress, was beautiful. I'm so glad Donatella took a step in the right direction, I guess rehab did some good afterall. That nude gown on Daria, though nothing new, was absolutely beautiful.

I really like this collection. :innocent:
It is well tailored and styled right. The mods look fabulous. The Versace tradition manifests itself in the marriage of prints, satin, and glitter, not to mention the deep V-neck, but the safari style is very well incorporated to give the collection something new... MaxMara with cleavage. Very wearable stuff.

And it seems like Donatella designs with her clients in mind.

This one is for Mariah Carey:

 :punk:

Well done Donatella. This is a fine collection as always. Refined va-va-voom for the many occasions in which the Versace woman partakes.

Donatella says about how she wants to concentrate on the clothes......obvoiusly to try and revive the money they've been losing for years

but still......this isnt PROPER ready to wear.......its all dresses you would only wear once

oh come on, stop that self-defensive attitude, it's not towards you or your tastes, it's about the lame collection, which is certainly not about 'looking sexy' but about looking, feeling, trying hard to be rich, something that in my opinion, is hideously vulgar ;)
