Versace S/S 2026 by Steven Meisel, Tania Franco Klein & Frank Lebon

The perfect amount of retouching, the vibrant colors, I LOVE THIS (the Meisel shots obvi)

The Klein shots are absolutely gorgeous! The Meisel ones are nice, I just hate Dario’s vision for when it came to the casting because they seem so surface level instagram typecasts. A great play on colour and texture though.

the meisel campaign is incredible

when i saw the collection i thought it looked exactly like what you'd see in the pifebo vintage shop in the kinda run down neighborhood behind the train station in rome, and i really liked it, it looked like cool italian teenagers wearing some 1980s cheap vintage clothes, like is that expensive or original? no but at least its not a phoebe philo copy, it was colorful sexy and a little vulgar, is that not versace?

im obsessed that meisel kind of made it look like a big pile of clothes on the floor in the midst of these beautiful interesting models.. its brilliant to me

i HATE to imagine its the minds behind prada/raf that fired this guy, prada used to be feminine and interesting and unique.. since raf joined it's been devoid of life joy and originality.. everything is fitting into smaller and smaller buckets these days

^^^ That can be said of 99% of labels out there: There will always be a handful of solid separates when thoughtfully pulled and styled on the right individual. The very first time I accompanied a stylist when she was pulling for our work, I saw the most exquisite shift in this bugle bead ombre embellishment. It was supremely simple but devastatingly opulent— like any women would look stunning in it. It was by Roberto Cavalli, one of the tackiest labels out there at the time to me. Maybe that wasn’t the catalyst for me to never dismiss any designer unconditionally, but it absolutely a starting point in a lesson to always remain open-minded that there will always be handful of solid offerings from any label that. And that with the right styling and cast, and a talented team, anything and everything will look transcendent, even Darios’ harmless but instantly forgettable 80s thriftstore Versace.

(...The slightest of effort these days from Meisel will always send TFSers into a feeding frenzy. I understand in these days of absolute fashion famine, but at best, this is just another Avedon ripoff— and if I’m being particularly generous, maybe Kylie’s “Slow” video, minus that video's smoulder. At worst and more accurately, it’s a harmless and forgettable Where’s Waldo? sensibility. The color-palette is particularly cheap and no amount of skilled lighting will change this. This wishes it was Benetton, @FashionPower LOOOL)

^^ what is more interesting than this right now? which campaign? does it not deserve some level of feeding frenzy in comparison to what else people are being given to look at this very moment?

I mean at least it's a GOOD Avedon rip-off. You're just not gonna get the same degree of risk and novelty from modern fashion photography that we got 20 years ago. The current sociopolitical climate of the industry just doesn't support that kind of creativity. No campaign is created in a vacuum.

"unique point of view/vision", "extremely original and well shot!". "im obsessed that meisel kind of made it look like a big pile of clothes on the floor".

Really??? :ermm:
Were you guys born yesterday?

That photographic composition is typical of the eighties.

While not everyone’s cup of tea, he really did have a unique point of view/vision which is not something we see much of these days. #gonetoosoon #rip
Yes for unique point of view. For sure. Maybe he will land somewhere else

I would argue that the compo is different; the models are staring at the camera. But even if its typical of the 80s, re-using it 40 years after in the context of 2026 makes it new and unique again. Principle of fashion, there is nothing really new.
Which brand has a huge group campaign this season?
Which brand is doing "sexy" ?
Both of these are new for S/S 26

also i dont think a soul is trying to say this lying down group pic is something we haven't seen? we have seen it!! it's an effective beautiful way of showing clothes, and im happy to see it again

i would almost compare this more to the print mania meisel did, with megan collison etc covered in tatoos, because every inch of the frame is taken up with color and your attention is called everywhere, it's filled with things and its somewhat flat

and you guys are referencing some things outside meisel, but im pretty sure theres multiple shoots meisel did with models laying on top of each other just like this -- the montauk beach monster shoot (ymre etc) + the like nude in furs shoot he did with long haired male models + iselin come to mind quickly, its a trope! just one we haven't seen in a minute because everyone is too busy doiung exactly the same thing as each other in the same time period...

An entire year of Prada campaigns wouldn't even match the energy of this campaign. Really elevate the his work, everything came together quite well.

I think the fact that there aren't many references being named that have been done in like the past 10 years attests to the idea it's fresh for right now. I mean this sort of imagery was commonplace before 2016 at all levels of media. In a way it kind of feels like an unspoken taboo born out of gen z puritanism/paranoia, COVID, and real time war footage is quietly being lifted.

Love the Meisel pics! The Lebon stuff is so bad once he cant make people do cross eyed faces or throw up in a picture lol

The Meisel shots really are fantastic. I don’t mind the other 2 sets of images, but they’re nowhere near as strong. Hope to see this in print - the colours would look fantastic.

are frnak lebon and tyrone lebon 2 different people or did he change his name?
