Balmain S/S 2017 by Steven Klein

Well but that's not really the point, they all had very established careers before Instagram was even a thing.

Exactly the have 10+ years of stablished careers, that idea of them being "instamodels" is just stupid

It could be an alright Dolce campaign (considering their current state) if it wasn't so weird and photoshopped looking.
The men's ones are a bit more tolerable since the women's clothes are so bad.

Weeks ago I said I'm so happy Doutzen & Steven Klein finally working together BUT I was afraid he's going to make her look bad or cut her out of the campaign because they never worked together, never been photographed together at same parties etc. & they dont follow each other on instagram

Well .. he didn't cut her out but he indeed choosed the most awful images

One of them truggling with her outfit
Her feet got stuck in 1 of the outfits

I liked him but now I really hate him and deleted him from Instagram
Awful photographer

I am pissed!

His aesthetic is so extra it's hilarious. Hilarious because you can tell from those shots that they take themselves way too serioulsy and think they are " serving looks, fierce ,glamour, elegance, sexiness and bling to the kids" when it looks so dated, cheesy and forced.

Not even gonna talk about the clothes that are as awful as the composition

Aren't you taking this a little too serious? This isn't the first time Doutzen is being photographed horribly..

This campaign should be used in fashion and photography school books in the category " WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO"

Only Natasha is remotely looking good, overall a big no.

No Nymphaea, I'm afraid not even Natasha can save this for me! The worse is Doutzen Kroes and the male models  Where to begin, the shoddy cut-and-paste effect, greasiness of everybody involved, or the fact that the guy in the second shot is styled like some WWE wrestler.

I'm normally a fan of Klein, but this is easily his worst campaign ever!

Yeah, shame on all involved for putting a little effort and production into things. They should be flayed for daring to make a photo look like it wasn't taken with a Polaroid. Post production is just so f***ing dated and cheesy.

Mind you, I don't really like any of the shots aside from the one with the bullhorn because the clothes are terrible and there's no getting around that, but at least I can tell that everyone who participated actually worked instead of standing there like being paid thousands of dollars a day is an inconvenience which causes severe depression.

With this level of cast, I am putting all the blame of the clothes and photographer. I mean, non of them look good. And what is the story behind this anyway?

Are they serious picking that 6th pic?? (the one with the three of them) Isabeli is the only looking decent in that one... So stupid.

As usual, Balmain have all the right ingredients to do something great...And as usual, the result is terrible.

The Art Direction is terrible. They needs to go back to Emmanuelle Alt's Husband.
Good casting, famous photographer but horrible concept, horrible styling...etc.

The only thing likeable is the eyewear... Not the eyewear shot, but the actual glasses.

It's maybe time for Olivier to consider being the face of his own menswear. No one is credible in those clothes...

I don't get it! the collection is pretty solid this time but the ads ruin everything. I prefer the men's campaign at least they're more easy to look at.

The women's clothes look horrible as expected but the I feel bad for the male models; they all look to have stumbled into a fabric shop while on acid and wrapped themselves in yards of fabric.

Horrible photography, probably the least favorite I've seen from Steven Klein. This would've worked with a different photographer.

I love the cast, but the photos are just tragic. They wasted an opportunity to use real models. Natasha is the only one who can give the right vibe.

We keep wishing that Klein would go back to shooting Versace or D&G but if this is what he comes up with these days, he better not :pink:
Perhaps if the saturation wasn´t done in unreal levels, this could have been ok. On a positive note, I love the cast.

I love it :brows: ! I love how tacky it is! the mean looks both that Natasha and Isabeli give me life, love the movements of the dresses. The background looks boring at hell! they should have stacked at least 15 sets sound box to make the set looks more legit. Right now it looks like a 3-year-old come up with the concept. Don't care for STEVEN KLEIN, his works always seem dated to me -_-

the cast is not expected at all, i love doutzen though anywhere  its a powerful campaign, i feel like the mens is not that great though
