I think this is the biggest gripe for me, the fact that Versace- built up
so strong by Donatella after Gianni passed, to see this
weak reinterpretation is a shock to our systems. We are used to seeing Versace being strong is foreign.
Even if we didn't like the collection, or it went to far one way- under Donatella it was always strong.
Always a clear point of view. It feels off. Transitional? Not enough of an excuse. The Versace archives are stacked with so many areas of where you could pull from, a creative director is supposed to master direction; not get lost in it.
If you take over a house, and are hired to steer the ship- you can't take it off course SEASON ONE.
Your leadership is then automatically called into question, and you only have one debut - you can't redo that.
I hella seen Dario with Donatella at a museum event or something, can't imagine that he's not social with her to have been able to reach out and seek even her simple approval, as a mentor, after being appointed. It's all very odd.
