Viktor & Rolf for H&M

ooh there's black trench also! :woot: i'm for sure getting both!

I'm also not really feeling this collection, but I ABSOLUTELY need this shirt! Argh. Unfortunately, there's no H&M where I live. I'm so going to source for someone who can help me get!

Has anyone out there who works at magazines gotten samples of the raspberryred skirt? Someone who actually felt it? Is it soft or more crunchy feel to it?? Because Im really not loving the other items..... Exept the mens coat, for my husband. I want to know if the red skirt is worth standing in line for and fighting all the crazy people with babycarriges from last years Stella madness.

haha, so true....the ones with the babycarriges were really the worst....i mean, the place was so packed already and everyone fighting over the clothes, why did they have to bring their babycarriges along? i found this so stupid....i hope it's gonna be better this time round.:p

the wedding dress is only available in size 6 or 8. and they worked on the collection for two weeks. i hope no one here is disapointed about the sizes of the wedding dress....:(

European Union: Viktor & Rolf, H&M Fete Line in Hollywood
By Khanh T.L. Tran
LOS ANGELES — Oh, the irony of Viktor & Rolf and Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M showing Hollywood how to stage an opulent celebrity wedding.

On their third trip to Los Angeles, the Amsterdam-based design duo piled on the clichés at last Friday's wedding-themed soirée at a private Bel-Air mansion to launch some 70 pieces for men and women that they created for the one-time collection Viktor & Rolf [heart] H&M.

Following a bachelor party organized by Greybull Press co-publisher Lisa Eisner at a Mexican wrestling bout that also featured burlesque dancers, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren greeted about 600 guests under a big white tent housing crystal chandeliers, a disco ball, a 10-piece chamber orchestra that played Madonna's "Like a Virgin," a catwalk for a runway show and a 12-foot-high wedding cake.

"The whole collection is [about] a wedding," said Snoeren at the Chateau Marmont before the party, the only one being thrown to fete the collaboration, which will hit stores Nov. 9. "We were thinking of a celebrity wedding because they don't last very long. That's why we thought of L.A."

"I like the celebrity here in L.A.," said H&M head designer Margareta van den Bosch, noting the Stockholm-based company hasn't decided yet on the next designer in the series, which kicked off with Karl Lagerfeld and followed with Stella McCartney.

While Carmen Electra and Christina Milian respectively donned a black peacoat with heart-shaped buttons and an ivory silk crepe blouse from the collection, Chloë Sevigny, who was featured in H&M's ad campaign in 2000 when it opened its first shop in the U.S., paired Proenza Schouler's teal-striped pouf miniskirt with a black cardigan from Los Angeles' Trasteverine. Coveting the short khaki trenchcoat on the runway, Sevigny said that "it was all cute."

It was also a zippy process. Horsting said that after he and Snoeren received a call from H&M in March, they spent two weeks concocting everything that a couple would need for a wedding and honeymoon, including black plastic square-shaped glasses resembling the designers' signature spectacles, pink silk bras, dark skinny jeans, suede platform pumps, black tuxedos with heart-shaped lace cutouts and a silk wedding dress, which, at $349, is the most expensive item.

Choosing white as the color for the plush carpeting, waiters' tuxedos and gloves, roses and a Rolls-Royce, Horsting and Snoeren hosted the party to end their 10-day tour of Chicago, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. "We're very happy," Horsting said after the cake cutting and bouquet toss.

Still, they acknowledged fashion is also about exclusivity. The wedding dress, which is the first that H&M has ever made in its 59-year-history, is available only in sizes 6 and 8 and limited to 1,000 units.

"It would be really fun if people sent us [wedding] pictures," Snoeren said.

It turns out that my favourite dress of the whole collection is only a shirt and a skirt! Major disappointment! -_- I won't be queuing this time then.

Okay here's my confession..

I had a dream last night..
It was Thursday 9th.. and I was at H&M..
..and with dreams, at least mine.. the 'story' get better, bigger..and weirder..

I saw all the items in the collection, and rails of items my brain made up, that did not resemble the V&R line..
There were no masses of customers, pushing and shoving.. but strangely enough I still didn't get a single item that I wanted... they all just sort of vanished..

This better not be a premonition for whats to come..

im gonna go to my city's h&m early thursday, but as it is i dont have much money at the moment so i might just end up getting one shirt. now that i see the whole collection the h&m website, im not that impressed anymore. some of the shirts (eg. buttonups and sweaters) are too short.. some tops are ok. i wouldnt buy the jeans. of course we'll have to see how everything fits and is in person. anyways, id like to get the trench but no money for that. :(

what are your favourite pieces? i like the white spaghetti top with a big bow and some of the dresses.

also the whole theme of hearts and arrows is kinds of teenageish to me, the guys stuff sucks ***.. girls is ok :)

I'm partially relieved that there isn't anything in the menswear I want as I won't be anywhere near an H&M carrying the collection. I do like the men's breifs with the bow ties printed on them. I'd probably get a few pairs if I could.

do we know how much the heart toggle coat is? thats the number one item i want.

in the new issue of interview, the young actor from "running with scissors" is wearing the argyle sweater. i wonder if i could get it and wear it as a sweater dress.

i cant let myself get too excited about this collection as i know my city wont be having the whole collection....

The only thing I like so far is the dress pictured in the ads. Would I pay $99 for it-NO!

I need those briefs, and the pair w/ the ruffles. Definately getting those. The rest Im lukewarm about, I could take it or leave it, maybe that trench, lukewarm though.

are they selling the shoes???

hm, i was wondering myself....but i believe they do. :flower:
however, considering the H&M shoes usually sold in stores, they really can't be that fantastic, can they??

they are selling the shoes. the shoes will leave heart shaped footprints...
i wouldnt buy the shoes...

i think the ugliest item is the ribbon cardigan. it has a silk front and a satin tie it looks like.

i think that this salmon colour is going to be horrendous.

info from the new york post for NYC shoppers

ELBOWS UP - SURVIVING THE H&M CRUSH

November 2, 2006 -- AS The Post reported this time last year in a piece succinctly called "Back Off My Dress, b*tch!" nothing short of 12 weeks of intense Krav Maga training can prepare even the most competitive New York shoppers for the long-awaited, now-annual morning when a capsule line by a high-end label - this year, Viktor & Rolf - hits the floor of cheap-chic emporium H&M.
However, to avoid falling prey to the stampede witnessed at last fall's unveiling of the Stella McCartney line (one fallen woman was literally trampled by frenzied fashionistas tearing clothes off mannequins and stashing merch in empty - we hope! - baby strollers), there are a few things every would-be shopper should know.
In New York City, the collection will be carried at only six stores, all of which will open on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. - except for the flagship location at 51st Street and 5th Avenue, which will open at 9 a.m. Last year, the line started forming at 3 in the morning, so do with that information what you will. Forget about trying anything on; if you're not sure of your size, buy pieces in more than one size and return what doesn't fit. (FYI to those exhausted just reading this: Returns start showing up en masse about four days later.) And as for you retail warriors, you can spend the rest of the week walking around town, smugly dressed in your new Viktor & Rolf for H&M acquisitions, which cost you no more than $99.99 - and just a little piece of your humanity.

What a nightmare!

I called my local H&M store today to see if they were stocking the collection at any of the store or and of the others in the city. The sales assistant assured me that they were. Fantastic I thought, I booked the day off work and began to look forward to next Thursday.

Now I log onto the website to fine, that according to the site locator, that they will not be stocking the menswear line in the city at all.

I’m heading to London on Friday anyway so I could bring forward my trip and pick up the pieces I want there, but I’m thinking that the stores there are going to be chaotic and I will miss out on what I’m after.

Looks like I may have to head north to Nottingham or Leeds instead, looks like Thursday isn’t going to be as easy as I had been led to believe.

Anyway, now that I have had my moan…..

I like what I have seen of the collection. I think I will be getting some of the trousers, jeans, a few shirts, the sweater and trench and also a few blazers. I also may be able to pick up a few Christmas gifts for female friends of mine which would be a bonus. It’s now all going to come down to what the items look like on I guess and also what the fabrics are like.

Just hope I manage to make it to a store that is selling it now.

Aside from a couple of pieces (the trenches and pants), this collection (like all of the others for H&M) is completely overrated. I could never rationalize waiting till 3 in the morning & clawing my way through crowds for this!!

None of this stuff is particularly unique or spectacular. In fact, it's probably going to be the same overpriced poor quality that H&M is known for.
