liberty, i remember you saying last year you werent going to queue for stella mccartney;)

im just going to get in line 30 mins before it starts.

haha, i know i said that, but then i saw how excited everyone was about it so i went ahead and stood in line in the morning (and it paid off, since i really got everything i wanted).....:p

i have a friend who works in h+m, i'm gonna get her to keep me the black dress with the hearts..

So.. when will this collection hit the stores?

I haven't really seen anything I have liked so far.

They close the changing rooms
Thanks for the info tiamaria! I'll wear some dress then, so I can try them on.

does anyone that works in a magazine or site know if they're having a vip pre-shopping event like the one they had last year for Stella McCartney for H&M? I heard they let the press people in to shop before the store opened and after that everyone was left with practically nuttin (the people that were waiting in line). is that true?

retrogurl, i heard that too!! i remember reading that from a news story last year.

liverpool :flower: which considering its such a fashion forward city you would think they would ... i will phone up tomorrow maybe the website is wrong

Would be worth calling your local branch and asking.

Am in Paris in a few weeks so might have a look there and see whats left. Can't be hassled with Oxford Street.

thanks for the info that everyone has provided in this thread. very informative and entertaining to read! :flower:

i am completely on the fence about whether i should queue in line this thursday. i was going to jump in around 2 am (i believe that's the time people started queuing last year for stella) but i just don't have the energy. plus i really only want one item from the collection, the tan color button-up dress in the ad campaign. i don't know if it's worth killing my energy for the rest of the day just to get that dress. i am already seriously considering paying ebayers extra money to get that dress rather than waiting in line. on the other hand, it is exciting to be one of the first to get the items too. i don't know...

Does anybody in Chicago know what the store was like when they sold Stella McCartney collection last year? Was it also like in New York that almost everything sold out within several hours and if you wanted to get all the suff you liked, you had to line up outside the store several hours before it opened the door? I am tempted to go to Chicago this time because there are several items I like from mens collection this time, but I can't decide if I should go on Wednesday then I could wait outside the store for the opening at 7AM on Thursday, or I just go on Thursday and get to the store around 10AM or so. Could anyone in Chicago help with any information?

ayiyi there are a couple things i want, but i know the stores out here are gonna be crazy. i might as well not even try. plus i have classes on thursday so there's no way i'll be able to be there so early in the morning. oh well. :(

where did you hear that??:flower: so i can't try on clothes? and when? just on the first day??

^^ for stella and karl for opening day ( no point afterwards as it all sells out in a few hours in my store anyways) they close the changing rooms to try and prevent ques etc. and fights and trouble... this way all the staff can be on the shop floor to assist... makes sense really :)

karl lagerfeld barely sold here in glasgow. most of it lay untouched for weeks...

in boston they did not close the dressing rooms, but the SA's had a problem with people rushing the dressing rooms and trying to grab the rejects.

also as you exited the dressing rooms there were several people asking "are you going to buy that?" and trying to persuade you to hand it over...

i think its true in the major cities with fashion industry/people/press. i remember when the lagerfeld collection came some stylist was styling some guy with the h&m clothes on tv before the collection hit the stores...
sucks for us regular people..

nooooo i cant get into a h&m until saturday!!!! do you think the menswear in leeds will sell that quick?? oh it will  im not going to be able to get any of it...

^^ same here.... :'(

there is a tiny change that i might get there on thursday though

lucy92 and chrissym, what do you think the crowds will be like at the boston stores? do many people in boston care about this kind of stuff?

i am still debating whether to go...the clothes are cute, but none of the items makes my heart skip a beat or anything. (reference to 'hearts' not intentional ^_^.)
