Viktor & Rolf for H&M

Oh hell, girls are just crazy! :p:D

Here in the tiny city of Lund in Sweden they only sold the womenswear but me and my friend went to feel the vibe. And it was totally crazy. Girls we're screaming and more or less fighting to get the different pieces, people didn't care the slightest what they got, just if they got something. The whole experience was just sick, I can't believe people can behave like that just to get cheap clothing, swedes are so cheap. ^_^:yuk:

Since I couldn't really skip school I had no chance of getting to a store which sold the menswear, that really sucks. I was so looking forward to seeing that bow-tie. Well well, it was an rather unusual experience at least..

H&M Munich restocked everything!

I just checked again the H&Ms in downtown Munich Germany.

Yesterday evening, after the first day of V&R, most things where gone. But I just checked again to see if they had the mens undershirt with the ruffles in S, I think it would be cute on a girl too.
But these undershirts where almost the only thing they hadn't restocked:(

Everything else was there again, even trenches for women in both colours, now (2 p.m.) only size 40 and up, but they had gotten everything again this morning! The black and the pink pumps where there, i just didn´t see the long scarf for women.

And there was a little crowd looking, but still ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS THERE!

I´m very surprised, but maybe that leaves a chance for the people who couldn't make it yesterday.

Does anyone know if all stores are going to restock? The only thing I wanted was the grey heart sweatshirt, but I was at work allday yesterday, and by the time I got there at 5pm, almost everything had gone.

Hey guys, I made a video on the launch in London if you're interested in seeing the carnage that ensued...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nPaLL76Cu8

Love the video (especially the music). After the video plays Youtube suggests 2 other related videos, including one of the Amsterdam launch (very short, but too funny), that is insane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhodCxOTuyk&NR

People are even selling on ebay the free perfume samples they gave out at H&M yesterday when you purchased something (and people are actually buying them).

Yeah it was terrible in Amsterdam! Actually it was like hell in almost every city in The Netherlands.. Unfortunately there wasn't anything V&R in the city I come from, so that's why I am waiting for the online sale at Hm.com

well, i live just 1 block away from H&M on Bloor St, so around 9:30 i thought i'll go check out and the line up is already turn the corner of Scotia Bank.

10 min i got there Jeanne Becker arrived but of course she didnt' join me at line up but went stright into H&M, the door didn't open for public until 10:10 ish and by that time Jeanne already check out the cashier.

i swear, it is ALL GONE in less than 20 min, i mean empty shelf nothing left, by the time i was lining up to paid sales ppl are already putting up the regualr stocks. when i got back to my place it was only 10:45.

i got both men and women's trench coat, 2 black and 1 pink ribbin tshirt, 2 sweaters and a dress. but my mommy was really upset that i didn't get her the grey sweater with a heart at front, what can i say? a women told me she was there since 630 this morning.

we let Jeanne Beacker in only a couple of minutes early. She came to the wrong location, and i think she just wanted to show her friend the collection. And as far as i remember she only ended up getting two of those coral skirts, because she didn't know her daughter's size. The store did actually open at 10:00, at least by our clocks.

I was loads of fun, anyway! I think the stuff was gone in much less than 20 mins. It reminded me of the beetles in "The Mummy", the way they just ran over a body and left the bones. The people just swooped in, grabbed everything they could, and ran out leaving everything empty. The stuff never left the fitting rooms, it travelled from one woman to another, and there was actually scenarios like this, "I'll trade you this for that, plus 20 bucks."

I left at six, and we only had one pair of socks, two men's jackets, three women's pants, and one khaki ruffled dress in a size 44.
Those ebay sharks though, they just garbbed handfuls and brought it right to the cash.

there was a story in WWD interviewing lots of people that were going to sell on ebay...

i think H&M should have rationed the items somehow (ie not let someone by the same item in 5 sizes like i saw people in boston buying) just like topshop did when the celia birtwell items were released.

excerpts from an mtv.com/news story about the line. it has pics of the 5th avenue store launching as well...i cant imagine competing with 200 women for the items...i wouldnt have a chance!!

Fashion Feeding Frenzies Erupt As H&M Unveils Viktor & Rolf Collection

"This is insane," said a saleswoman who was sweating profusely, picking up clothes off the floor and putting them back on hangers at the flagship H&M on Fifth Avenue. "It's amazing how violent some women can be," she said. "They go so crazy over fashion and getting the items, and then they just throw them right on the floor when they realize they don't want them."

Susan Chau, a 26-year-old grad student who had been waiting since 8 a.m., was on the verge of tears. Because of her petite size, she was unable to grab at items, and if she did, other women would snag them from her. "I really want the black trench coat," she said. "But I am physically not capable of getting it."

Other women were trading clothes like baseball cards, holding onto their coveted items for dear life. "I'll give you the button-down for the trench coat," one woman haggled to another. "No way," said the other woman. She walked on by lugging three trench coats and poking people with her hangers.

More than 200 people were lined up outside the Fifth Avenue H&M before it opened its doors at 9 a.m. The scene was expected to be even crazier at the new Los Angeles branch, which was set to open its doors Thursday at noon PT.

In New York, one man had been in line since 2 a.m. just to get his hands on a wedding dress (valued at $349) for his best friend, who is getting married. The fifth person in line had been waiting for the men's underwear, which has "Viktor & Rolf" spelled out on the waistband Calvin Klein-style.

"It was very strategic," H&M spokesperson Jennifer Uglialoro said of the crowd. "People had maps and handwritten printouts of what they wanted. And they brought friends along so they could buy even more clothes.

"All our small sizes flew off the rack," she added. "Within the first hour, all of our 25 wedding dresses were sold out too." Note: There were only 1,000 Viktor & Rolf wedding dresses made total.

ther pieces that were gone within seconds were the red bubble skirt ($59.90), heart silk blouse ($59.90), trench coat ($129), little black dress with chains ($99.90), white button-down shirt ($39.90) and men's leather shoes ($99.90). By noon ET, items were already up on eBay for double the price, and one trench coat was up to a bid of $400.

Elsewhere in the world — the line is being distributed in all 250 H&M stores — the Viktor & Rolf collection has done "extremely well," Uglialoro said.

"Our Stockholm [Sweden] office is really happy and it exceeded all their expectations. Same with Germany, they did better than they did with Stella or Karl. France did really well with it. And Dubai did really well."

here's a pic of one of the pairs of shoes i took last night...

i cant believe how crazy people can be!! most of the collection i thought was absolute poop, i cant stand people who HAVE to get something because its v&r, even if it doesnt look good!

the quality was so poor on most items and so was the execution and look. so why get something like this when you can get almost similar if not better stuff from normal h&m clothes. or better yet, save your money and get real v&r stuff. i got my knit dress cause i really liked the look and it was so comfy and luxurious looking. other stuff.. well, i passed on.

shame on you label wh*res! (not saying tfs members but the people going overly crazy for this) :D

why don't people buy real v&r for the prices they are paying on ebay? sad.

So true! It is so weird.

The strange thing with these designer for H&M etc thing is that these stores sell designer knockoffs anyway, but now it is desirable all of a sudden, because there is an label in it.

that exactly what i was trying to say but you put it in better words :)
i agree totally and i dont get it. thats why i bought the knit dress cause it was one of the only items that looked more high end and i loved it right away. it didnt matter that it was v&r, i could have got it even if it was just h&m.
i guess most of the people cant afford real things so they get this cheap stuff... but what really is weird the ebay thing. just get the real thing if you are willing to bid so high anyway... jeez

Even though people may think their stuff is cheap, i got to admire them for being such a successful company, i think it's cool that they get to work with high-end designers like V&R, Stella McCartney, and Karl Lagerfield, it adds more value to their products and thats why young girls go crazy for it, it's probably the smartest business strategy i ever heard of.:D

I took a pic of the glasses I can't believe I bought... Like I said, they're going back and I might return the peacoat as well... It's nice, but the cut is a bit weird... It's basically very tubelike somehow, which makes it a bit too constricting around the chest/shoulders and too wide around the waist/hip area.
