i was there too and wanted to burst into tears [not literally]. i was dissapointed in the skimpy mens collection and i didn't even see the grey heart sweatshirt that i had been eyeballing in the womens collection. all in all, pretty crappy selection. also, my friend works there and told me that whatever they didnt sell tonight they were going to ship to NYC.

Another report from Boston

I went to the Newbury St store in Boston at about 1 pm today and passed by the men's section first - there was nobody looking at the V&R stuff. They had about half a dozen peacoats left, some underpants, plenty of the T-shirts, a couple of the print shirts, and a couple of the white ruffle shirts. A few of the tuxes. Also a pair of nasty looking jeans. I didn't see any accessories. I didn't buy anything for my husband even though he fits the V&R male look perfectly with his small slim physique. I just didn't fancy anything, even though I thought I was going to go nuts today, being a huge V&R fan.

In the women's section, lots of ribbon dresses, a couple of the wool dresses in size M, lots of underwear in black and white (not good enough for me, some of the regular H&M stuff is better than this), three or four pairs of black suede pumps (oh my god, could they have made them more cheaply), two trenches - one in black, one in beige, in large sizes (very stiff and cheap looking cotton fabric, kind of creased even), lots of T-shirts, and lots of the angora sweaters that seem universally to have been shunned. Oh, also quite a few of the tuxes, and the gray and black trousers.

I left without having bought a thing. A single thing. Totally not me. I'd gone crazy for the Lagerfeld and Stella collections and bought more than I should have, and this time I just couldn't be bothered. It was SO overpriced for the quality. I couldn't believe how many items were $100, and how many shirts were $60 (we're talking H&M after all!).

I think part of the reason I was so restrained was because I've bought almost a dozen real V&R items on Ebay over the years for less than H&M was charging here. I just couldn't see myself spending $100 on anything there.

I then went to the Downtown Crossing store to see if they had a different selection, given that the website said both would stock the V&R collection. And, as people have mentioned, they weren't getting it, the website was wrong.

I'll keep an eye out for returns, because I do fancy some of the stuff still - the heart shirt, and the white pullover with the red argyle pattern, at the very least. I was lusting after the coral skirt till people pointed out it didn't puff out like on the photos. That's cheating!

so dissappointed i went to three nyc stores SOHO and both 34th Street ones.
I went to the first one on 34th street at like 2pm all there was left was the sweaters which were ugly, all the pants which were sized so bad, the black dress which was cute but to bubbly like a prom dress on the bottom but the top of it was beautiful, lots of crappy t shirts, underwear which i bought, and to pink high heels left. Everything i tried on horrible. No wedding dresses insight lol not that i would have bought it. everytime they brought something new up it went in 5 minutes.
anyway very sad.

Just came back from the SF store. I had to do a presenation in the morning so I couldn't go till 2pm. No one in line, store was fairly quiet, no lines at dressing room or cashier area. Fair amount of people around the VR collection, but really nothing extraordinary.

There were loads of pink and chain silk dress left, i thought it was really nice. Don't think quality was crap like everyone mention, but I don't owna any real V&R stuff so maybe i'm just wrong.

Tried on the grey pants, and it's a NO, really weird on.

The trench coat was very thick and heavy, it's cute, but I would not wear it so I didn't try it on.

Black sweater dress was really nice, alot better than the snugged ones because honestly, unless you are tall and thin, the tight ones just does not look good on.

Lots of pink and white angora sweaters, those are really ugly.

I got a black top with silk front, i bought it to think about it at home, since it really look a bit soccermom-ish.

Lots of black heels and a few pink heels. Black one is pretty, u can get alot of wear out of it. The pink one is super cute, but unless you're going to a party, ic an't see how one can wear that....

Lots of tuxedos left.

Peacoat with heart buttons really cute, only one size 12 left.

Red and black heart tights- super cute, but all out of small. :(

i just saw the blacks heels on ebay i love them. but none my sizes. oh i wish i took a earlier train into the city. any one have those heels in a 9 or 10 that they want to sell? lol

I went ti the 59th and lex location in nYC I was the 6th person and I pretty much got what I wanted (trenches both colors) all dresses, top with hearts, tights. I wasn't impressed with the rest of the stuff, because it wasn't appealing to me and it didn't look good. The fit was off and I'm considering new ways to rock the threads because of that. I got extra dresses just incase my mom would want one.

I'm a little worried about next year because who can the next designer be? It was mayhem today and next year it's going to be murder.

SAN FRANCISCANS!! I was there this morning and it was a bit of a nut house, but everyone was more or less civilized so that is good. The first person in line got there at 4:30 AM (the time I wanted to go but couldn't get out of bed to do so). I got there around 7:15 AM and was maybe about the 35th-40th person in line. Not bad. I was banking on not too many people knowing about Viktor and Rolf. H&M passed out some free goodies to the first 100 persons standing in line, scarf and gloves for women and hat and gloves for men.

I forgot who asked, but the smallest size I saw in anything was a size 34 or XS (which seemed more like a small to me). So don't feel bad about not showing up. I think it sucks for those are petite or on the skinnier side - a lot of the items kind of ran large-ish.

When I got in there I pretty much grabbed everything I could find that fit me and my friend and dumped anything that was extra. I came home with 32 items. I know, I am crazy!!! But I really didn't have time to try on stuff nor did I want to give anything up so I carried 3 bags of clothes home before heading back to work. I pretty much got home and tried everything on right away. I am tired and my brain hurts from thinking about what to keep. The following is what I acquired today:

- grey sweatshirt with metallic spiral detailing (unique, soft material)
- white shirt with heart in the middle (looks really cool with grey sweatshirt over it....provided the sweatshirt is fitted)
- the khaki/olive-greenish ruffle front dress (my #1 choice that i attacked first :innocent: )....the sizing is weird on me...i may either bring this in for tailoring or get a smaller size if there are any left
- the black version of the above...this one fits better but i rather have the khaki one
- sheer pink silk blouse with the heart in the front (this one is really nice but i got one size too large i think...and it's a real feminine blouse, not really my taste although i love how silky soft it feels...it's in my maybe pile :P)
- tan trench coat (i personally think the quality is amazing given that it's only $130)
- black trench coat
- brownish silk tan wrap dress with the ribbon print (think i may return this one)
- black sweater dress with knot detailing and heart patent belt
- black sweater version of the above
- black silk top with the heart-shape cut-outs

I am returning more than half of what I got today back to the store. All larger sizes of the above pretty much minus a few items that I only got one each of. As for the quality, I always feel that you pay for what you get. I know this is H&M stuff so I am not expecting super quality (why should I when the rest of their stuff isn't?) but I did expect unique, fun designs, some good tailoring, and better fabrics than the usual H&M stuff. I feel that this collection has it. Especially the trench coat. It's made of pretty good quality and thick cotton that will keep me warm for fall, it's lined with heart shape pattern lining which makes the interior very fun to look at, and the pleating at the waist is awesome. On top of this, I think the design is really great. I do admit, though, that the Stella collection was higher quality, but that's mainly because she demanded it or she threatened to pull out of the deal (that's the rumor anyway...can anyone confirm this??). Anyway...

For those who waited in line super earlier than I did, they were able to grab some of the rarer items (e.g. sheer silk blouse with heart in front) but I don't think they had the advantage of getting everything they wanted in their size. Initially when I got inside and started grabbing the ruffle dress and trench coats, all of them were in size 40, 42, 44. I was thinking WTF to myself, how could I possible screw this up for myself, getting the wrong size when I pretty much landed my hands on those racks first (these were all the way in the back of the collection and I made a mad dash for it...most were hovering near the front still). Turns out they put out many clothes (not all) in the larger sizes first (don't know if this was intentional) and later on as the racks cleared they started bringing out smaller sizes, ones that everyone wanted and needed. Thank goodness! I was about to have a heart attack not getting the ruffles dress in my size (though I think the size 6 is still a wee bit large...don't know if it's a fluke or not). The staff were very calm and very organized as they re-stocked, always about 6-8 items at a time, and always announcing what they were bringing out and asking "who needs a size X??". All in all, I was glad I got there no later or earlier given that I got a lot of stuff and given that the staff was still bringing out stock of all the stuff I was interested in.

Maybe next year I will see some TSFers there! :flower: I need to now decompress from all the excitement and thinking about what to keep... my arms hurt from carrying so much stuff...anyone else?

ok ladies (and gents), i need reassurance. maybe knowing this will make me feel better about not getting up this morning to go...

If I'm an xs/0, is there any way any of the v+r clothing would've been able to fit me? a SA told me a 4 is the smallest they carry and there's no way I would be able to fit a 4.

Jen -- we're in the same boat. I should have stayed home, because there was nothing I reallly wanted and I was pretty sure it wouldn't fit (since 2's on H&M are usually big on me anyway)...so I was fairly disappointed to find nothing was even available in a 2. I'll stick to buying real v&r on sale like usual...

as for quality...i saw a girl try on a tux jacket and it fit her beautifully. the pants are better quality than the regular h&m pants, and the red silk dress looked fairly nice. other than that, i didn't see much i was impressed with...though i did not see the voluminous skirt or the wedding dress.

^ Susie bubble thankyou so much for that video, so professional and kind of you to take your time  :flower:
