Viktor & Rolf for H&M

i went to madrid a couple of days ago... when I asked if they still had something left or anything guys had returned, people from the staff almost laughed at me...:(

I bought a black ruffle fronted dress at the H&M in Amsterdam(Kalvertoren) today.. i'm really happy with it!
they had a lot of trowsers mainly and the rest was just single pieces: a men's trench, angora sweater, ribbon silk grey dress, men's schoes and a khaki ruffle dress.

it seems to me as though a lot of people are forcing themselves to find at least one nice item just to have something v&r....

i don't see the hype...

^ :P

I bought the peacoat because it's a good, classic one at a low price. Most of the other stuff was kind of gimmicky to me.

(I did also get the glasses, but I swear I don't understand why in retrospect...)

I ended up keeping the trench and buying the silk top with the hearts ( not the right size but it actually looks cute when it's too big).
Anyway, this collaboration was the one I liked the less so far

I know what you mean. I have a friend who was so bummed out about missing out on the first day of sales that she went mad trying to find at least one decent item from the collection  The only thing I really wanted was the trench, and it wasn't so much because it was V&R but simply because I thought it was beautiful and had been longing for a trench for quite some time already

Too commercial

Yeah I agree about the trench being beautiful, I dont actually think the line was that bad. Forgetting it was Viktor & Rolf and the big media frenzy that surrounded it.....it was a very creative collection, which had some lovely pieces. Having said that...... I didnt go out and buy any of it and I dont think I will. Its all a bit too commercial.

a heads up for canadian shoppers. i was jsut passing by the eaton's centre today, and noticed that they had lots of stuff. especially those angora sweaters. i think they received the leftovers from the rest of canada.:ermm:
that's just my guess...

I got the black blouse with the hearts along the collar, and though it's lovely and I like the fit, I have to say it's pretty damn cheap. The details just aren't there. I've been pining for the trench, but there's no way I'm paying eBay prices for something that'll probably be comparable to this.

In Sweden everything sold out the first day, but as with earlier designer collaborations there's no problem finding most of it if you return the next day when people start returning everything that didn't fit.

Our major newspaper (DN) run a story about how they had compared the Viktor&Rolf-collection to the usual H&M clothes – Viktor&Rolf's stuff was actually worse in quality! This was a surprise to me since I though big designers would be careful not to let the quality slip since they're putting their name on it.

I got two pair of pants, but actually returned both. They didn't really fit me very well, but I liked the grey wool pants (on somebody else... ). I also liked the black shoes, but I think the men's collection was better.

(Oh. And hi! This is my first post! =)

welcome to tfs jenmarlin :flower:

thanks for sharing your opinions with us ^_^

Välkommen Jen! :flower:

DN only compared the trenchcoats, and I'm not surprised they found them to be bad quality... Other pieces were very good though!

I just recently learned that we're getting an H&M here in western canada! woooo I'm psyched. Although... I almost like it when things are harder to reach because it makes it more special. But oh well! More H&M for meeeee =)

I stepped into the SF H&M store today while visiting a friend during Thanksgiving.

There were a few items left in the store - pants, shirtdresses, camisoles, shoes, the angora sweaters and tux jackets.

I don't think the quality was too bad(better than most H&M pieces) and I was pleasantly surprised that they still had the smaller sizes left for some of the pieces.
I ended up getting the tux jacket and pants (loved the fit on me!), the sweater dress with knot details, the ruffled front dress and a red silk shirt dress.
I love the lining in the tux jacket - I remembered that some of the members weren't too happy with the fit of the tux pants, but the fit worked out for me, plus the length of the pants was just right for me

^ I know, it really is. The best moment is when that "evil b!tch" told that lady that was wanting the wedding dress that she was too fat to wear it!
