Viktor & Rolf for H&M

i had no idea that v&r are so 'unknown', if csm students dont know about them, who does?

They are actually quite well known in Europe - especially since Lily Cole wore that crazy bed dress a few years back (what a fashion moment!)...if there really are CSM / LCF students who don't know who they are they should be reading more magazines and doing more research because they aren't exactly underground - their stuff retails in Selfridges... :innocent: :innocent:

yea, I don't think they're unknown... I've known about them since I was about 16. Maybe it's a european thing;)

When I was taking streetstyle pics outside Topshop, even a 15 yr old girl named Viktor and Rolf as her favourite designer so....yeah, def. not unknown here.....

hmm.... I really love V&R but I am not sure about this, When Stella & Karl has design for H&M it had turned out so ugly. It might be the same way with V&R! Why can't H&M choose more comercial designers?

ehhm i didn't know that those guys need it to do this. I mean iam totally for the collaboration with other brands but those guys are just fabulous on their own....Or is it maybe that iam dutch aswell :-D

Everybody seems to be raving about their menswear and I must admit I love some pieces too. But it's just that they don't design the menswear themselves. Dutch fashion talent Erik Frenken is designing menswear for Viktor & Rolf (and he's doing a great job). I guess they're too busy with other things. :innocent: (like marketing;))

Is it the same Erik (CSM MA 2004)? It would be quite surprising since he did womenswear back at college but i suppose what matters is how your entire portfolio stacks up. :innocent:

yes it's him. I think he's very talented, he is great in womenswear but his menswear for Viktor & Rolf is also not bad at all.

Seriously, they have viktor and rolf in Bloomindales...in ATLANTA!

Sorry for being a bit off topic and ignorant, but could someone explain to me how this works, how do people know which items in H&M are from Viktor and Rolf and which ones are not? Also, are their items going to be sold in all H&M stores? Hopefully someone can help me out!:flower:

regards,
max.

well, this is much better to know now.. they are quite famous here too, i was a bit surprised to hear this member talking about csm's students not knowing about v&r..

maximus, welcome to tFS the V&R collection for h&m, will certainly come with special labels or/and in special 'corner' so it wont be easy to miss ;)

how long has he been on the menswear?

iawtp.

viktor & rolf pieces aren't wearable for the most part, unless you're a truly stylish person who doesn't give a f*ck what people think. i can't see the masses who shop at h&m appreciating their flair, in the event the things that make it to the racks have that v&r touch. i'm curious about quality...so many of their pieces wouldn't be worth a thing if it weren't for the amazing fabrics and detailing that they use.
