^ If you look at that same picture...top left....there is a new thread button.

I was not able to start a new thread right away...there might be a set limit...like you have to have over 100 posts or something. I dont know.

On the matter of V&R -- does anyone know yet............will this include some menswear, or will it just be women's??

Thanks

I am THRI-hee-hee-illed!

I did buy the tux jacket and trousers and the turtleneck from the La Redoute collection, and, while I agree the quality of all La Redoute stuff is utter pants, the V&R garments were just a little bit better and good enough to wear in a darkened room. I say this without sarcasm.

I'm just sad that V&R will become a household name with this H&M collaboration. I used to be able to get their stuff really cheap on Ebay, but no more.

My best find was a pair of superb white patent leather pumps for $75:

Yeah..that is always the case. Especially with a store like H&M that is growing in popularity on it's own.

I used to shop there about a year or two ago, and even then no one really knew them well. Now.........everyone and their mother has heard of H&M and shopped there at some point.

i cant wait for thier H&M collection
ug, ill have to skip class to wait in line during the first day

hmm, sounds interesting.
though a lot of their clothes do nothing for me anyway.

i'm so underwhelmed by this...are the samples of the collection ready to look at yet? i really do want to get excited...

I am pleasantly surprised about the collaboration with Viktor & Rolf. I think it is great to see all of these designers (Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, etc.) stepping up and seeing fashion at the lower end. H&M's sales last quarter were up 1%. No business will ever survive if those numbers are consistent. As with all of the anticipation of the Lagerfeld for H&M launch, I think this launch will draw similar, possibly more press.

i am not at all surprised that H&M had poor sales for the past two quarters. even with stella's items they still came under expectation. they have to answer to their shareholders.

i have bought nothing since november from them. its all crap to me. and i saw no original designs or even good knockoffs from H&M.

I just hope they make slim black trousers and a nice winter jacket. That's as high as my expectations go. They have a pretty good handle on tailored menswear so I am assuming any mass market offerings can't be can't be much worse if not better than what you'd find at Bananna Republic or Jcrew. And, It's be nice if I could do some winter clothes shopping at somwhere other than A.P.C. (the only brand I like and can afford).

But that is exactly what H&M is.. Banana Republic on a budget. Don't get me wrong, I love what Banana has been doing the past two seasons, their quality of fabrics have really impressed me. However, they are not a brand to take example from. They have also drifted away from the 'preppy' look of khakis and polos, and can now cater to business people with their dress shirts and suits. (Dress shirts in the past have been oversized and that just shows the mass manufacturing and poor quality control of the company.) I am excited for this collaboration and I hope this Swedish firm extends out of Romania for manufacturing and can actually make a name for themselves on their own.

The H&M/Designer collections tend to be made a bit better than standard H&M. Mass Market clothes are always going to have the same trappings but having cheaper andfairly good quality clothes that isn't cut and fitted stupidly like BR is fine with me.

They've also raised prices, and shrunk their size catalog. I am not a big guy, but I have such a hard time finding stuff to fit me well at Banana.

And I find the quality is going down as the prices are increasing. I rarely buy anything from BR anymore.
