I live in Hong Kong... does anyone know any vintage stores here?

hey guys - i found these dresses looking around online and was wondering what u guys think for the price they are listed? has anyone shopped at this place - its called enokiworld.com and is primarily vintage clothing and accessories. its hard to tell from pictures online but both are beautiful. what do u think?

kenzo 70s crepe dress - from enokiworld.com ($480)

and a geoffrey bean wool/satin dress (also from 70s?) - from enokiworld.com ($430)
enokiworld is the most overpriced vintage store I've ever seen. I'm sure that right now, someone in the world (probably eBay) just bought a vintage designer dress exactly like that Kenzo for $25. Keep searching...

i love vintage belts atm im obsessed modern day belts seem to be too big bt vintage ones are smaler and fit just rihgt :flower:

Ahhh thank you. I actually use eBAY quite a lot, but I just want to walk into a store and browse!

Lol... I know, I feel exactly the same. However the regular stores has a poorer selection and are almost always insanely more expensive. All of my best vintage buys have been from ebay :flower:

I lived in HK for a while and unfortunately there no real vintage store as such BUT...in soho, around Hollywood road you do get a few bric a brac stores that sometimes turn up items..plus there is one vintage interior store near Stauton Street that sells vinatge dresses sourced from abroad. $$$$$ though. Theres alos an Oxfam (I think somewhere in Central)

There are still a couple of stores/small cubicle shops that sell old Americana stuff, but not many dresses/coats. Just makes me think where did all the old
designer dresses from the 70s and 80s in HK disappear to???

^ Ah the stores over in Soho are such ripoffs.
The price is crazy :hardhead:

Hmmmmm i like vintage, i think it really rocks its like buying into a piece of history however ive seen some realllly vintage items that look more car boot/garage sale than botique if you know what i mean like a bit too lived in! LOL its cool for old people it depends what u mean by old if its elderly u can still be quite chic and mix it with a modern edge for middle aged ppl sarah jessica parker and loads of other fashionistas have shown vintage is super uber hot!

I think that young people that weren't around when the clothes they are wearing were "in" can get away with it, but old people would probably be mistaken for just having no fashion sense.
I personally love vintage clothes but have a hard time wearing them as I'm scared people won't "get" my outfit - know what I mean? My mother, however, is a bit of a snob when it comes to vintage and always says that she doesnt want to wear "other people's junk".

Yeah, so pretty much it depends on the person

Some vintage.....mostly I scrounge for vintage jewelery and accessories, and pair that withvery sleek, modern basics.

I suppose it depends on the year and the occasion too. I wouldn't hesitate to wear a classic 50s dress, but I certainly wouldn't wear it to a rock concert.

And I rarely touch anything from the 80s. :p
