Ive tried it but Ive yet to find that piece that makes me have to have it for now its just like wearing old clothes for me.....

Yay for vintage!

Though, I must admit, it can be very time consuming; like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, but once you find that needle, it sure is worth all that sweat! :innocent:

there is good vintage and there is bad vintage. and then there is just plain crap. choose carefully and be picky about condition, material and fit. almost all my vintage I've had altered to fit me better, hardly anything will fit perfectly off the rack anyhow.

depends what it is .. theres trash and treasure but i defently think the rules apllies if u wore it first time around stay away :)

yeah... and the other thing i hate is when a consignment store calls themselves a "vintage store" and they sell 2nd hand clothes from chain stores that are only a season or two old... and cost almost as much as they would brand new

It is hard to say anything general about vintage as it covers so many different styles and ages, and it also depends on the condition of the clothes, but if it is nice I think it can be an important part of a wardrobe. It gives you opportunity to add something to your looks, which you can't make with only contemporary clothes.
My grandmother had a shop from the 1930's until 1971 where she sold some luxury clothes and I am very happy for having inherited the surplus stock. I use the dresses often.

I've seen a couple of pairs of vintage leather boots on ebay that are a size 6- half a size smaller than what i normally take. Do you think they will be too small or do vintage boots normally stretch slightly?

vintage pieces tend to run small, compared to modern sizes. it is always best to get some actual measurements. let the seller measure the insole of he shoes heel to toe, then compare to a similar pair you own. that's the way i do my vintage shoe shopping, and it's worked fab for years :flower:

Thanks guys. I've emailed the sellers and asked them to measure the boots for me B)

My newest vintage buy:

that's super, ultramarine.
i love digging through vintage stuff myself, it's my favourite pastime :innocent:

An antique deco mazer spiral pin that I'm contemplating using to make a diy fabric belt ..that or simply putting it on a thin leather string and wearing it as a Lavin'ish necklace... The broche is very 3D  and much more shinny and glittering than it appears here in this picture..
