I wear vintage dresses, tops, and skirts quite often, and I have a 1950s cone brassiere which I use under dresses from the same era. You NEED a cone bra if you are going to wear a June Cleaver dress. I promise you.
When I bought my pair of girl shoes, I made a point to get soemthing that would go well with my 1940s-60s clothes. As often as I have, I really shouldn't wear combat boots with a 1950s dress.
I own a couple of items from as far back as the 1890s, but they are NOT wearable. In way too delicate of condition. I admire the artistry and styles of these old dresses, however.
I also make myself clothes from styles from the 1930s-1970s, sometimes using vintage patterns, sometimes designing and drafting it from scratch.
