Vogue Arabia December 2022 : Imaan Hammam & Aicha Hammam by Bibi Borthwick

I had low expectations considering the photographer, but of course Imaan pulled through and looks gorgeous and glam as ever! Could be better, but I'll take it.

Cover #2 of 2 with Imaan and sister Aicha Hammam:

The cover with her sister is such a big disappointment.

I'll take the first cover...thanks

There is a group of models with not bad covers under their belt. They are Imaan, Rianne, Vittoria and Mica. Even their "not groundbreaking" or "regular" are above the current state of fashion or any mainstream fashion magazine

The first cover is a serve! The second one, meh.

Style: Rudy Simba Betty
Fashion director: Amine Jreissati
Hair: Hos Hounkpatin
Makeup: Lucy Bridge

The first cover is amazing, but was unnecesary to release a second. The aesthetic reminds me a bunch of old edits of Vogue Italia back in the 90's.

Only the cover select is decent. Such an aimless shoot. otherwise.

It’s such a crime against high fashion that much like Liu Wen, Imaan was/is never photographed by the Greats of fashion. Both women possess such an easygoing, effortless grace and radiance— not to mention their brand of timeless, ageless and relentless beauty that’s on the level of Christy Turlington. Such a crying shame she is always shot by lessers. What could have been had she been immortalized by the likes of Lindbergh/Testino/Weber… Still hoping she (and Liu Wen) will be the stars of any upcoming Zara campaign— which has easily become the only standard of high fashion these days.

She was actually photographed by Mario Testino quite a few times. And once by Peter Lindbergh.
But I agree with your point, when Testino, Sims, Meisel (sometimes, not always) and even Demarchelier photographed her, the pictures were often extraordinary and exciting, more energetic in a way.
Having said that, kudos to her for working with so many different and sometimes lesser photographers and still delivering.

I adore Imaan Hammam, get such a kick whenever she's gracing the covers of fashion magazines but this just ain't it. I do like the purple, the minimal art direction, the black background and the glam beauty styling but the photography and execution is just sooo subpar.
