Vogue China January 2018 : Cara Taylor by Roe Ethridge

It's so easy with Angelica. Just tell her 'that's what the youth are after' and she'll blindly co-sign. And I used to be one of her most vocal supporters at first because she put the identity of her magazine above all else.

Agreed. Feels bad indie and dated. Looks like Another magazine. Roe's fallen off a cliff past couple of years

Love this look, though it's not cover worthy. They couldn't do anything better with her hair? Facial expression seems off.

Vogue China is seriously obsessed with their models running on fields. 2 covers last year had the same mood, this editorial had the same shot.

Thanks so much Zorka, great work as usual, much appreciated.

As for the editorials, cover story feels a bit bland, but it's still pretty good, plus congratulations to the young Cara Taylor for her first overseas Vogue cover and cover story. "Winter Tales" is beautifully done.

I am looking forward to the rest of the contents.

There are a few Slavic photographers constantly referencing their background - Pudelka, Porodina, Yemchuk, and sometimes Popiezynska. I don't mind it personally. It's a welcoming change from fashion's obsession with the Pont Alexandre III, gritty East London, and Cali beaches.

They should've used Ruth's shot with the grey dress for the cover instead. Yes she does look like the offspring of Bowie and Tilda Swinton, but the image is much more striking. I quite like the entire edit, very refined and the styling is perfect. Ruth is ideal for location photography because it seems she's got a feeling for nature.

The cover edit is awful. Absolutely the wrong model for the storyline, just look at her posing. She's trying too hard to look serious.

Thanks so much for the review, MDNA!

"Ukraine" btw, not "the Ukraine", a "the" preceding the name refers to a geographical region and not a sovereign state.

Thank you, I will forward the message to Obama, who referred to it as such.

It's classic Yemchuk, Vogue Nippon circa 2004-2006. Anyone remember the shot with Carmen Kass?

Thank you Zorka for sharing.

Finally able to upload these pic to imgbox, I tried several times few days ago but failed. Anyway, now all the eds in this issue have all been posted here, but it would be appreciated if anyone could share the eds in the original colors, because my new platform for the digital edition has an annoying light grey filter on the pages.
