It's a shame that this is their anniversary special-slash-September issue.
It's too pretentious - like Vogue Russia's September 2020 cover.

If people want to buy Elephant, they will buy Elephant. If people want to buy Vogue,
they sure as hell expect Vogue to look like Vogue... and this ain't it.

Wow, this is total cr*p. The only issue that is worse is that Vogue Italia childish dribbles. I mean... Oh... I don't even have censor-friendly words for this. I... What is this... Vogue COVID-19?

I have since day 1 been of the opinion that this is the one Vogue edition that should never have happened.
And what's so comical is that they consistently prove me right.

To be honest, they did actually have a strong debut. An unconventional cover image for sure, but that Karolina Kurkova editorial was splendid. And for that first year or so they've had several pretty stellar covers - Herzigova, Lili Sumner, Lara Stone, Grace Hartzel and two of my personal favorites, Pamela Anderson and Hanne Gaby. But then they come out with something like this and it's such a mindf*ck, like... why?

These covers are supposed to be Czech-Slovak dawn, allegedly. I've seen dawn in Czech Republic and it did not look like that, but I totally want whatever they were on when they painted this.

Every change opens up a new path for us. We can either see it as a road to somewhere we don’t know – or a way to something bigger and better. Vogue CS has asked one artist and eight authors to create a unique cover for our September Issue (which also happens to be our Birthday Issue). All editions of Vogue share the same topic of #newbeginnings, symbolized by sunrise, reflecting the post-pandemic situation and also other massive changes that have taken place in the recent months. For our edition, Czech artist @Milan_Houser has created a painting capturing Czech-Slovak daybreak, and with our help, he has divided it into eight parts that form the eight different cover pages. These have been complemented by eight texts by Czech and Slovak authors. For the first time in our history, the very beginning of the magazine is not only a photograph or only a piece of art but also words. For the first time, you can purchase the cover art not only as a limited edition but at all retailers. Also, for the first time, you will be able to buy NFT of our cover page. There will only be two pieces available soon on OpenSea.

The September issue comes out on August 12 with eight different versions of the cover. All of them are available at selected retailers, online at Vogue.cz and also at pop-up locations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where you will be able to purchase a special set of all eight covers. More on Vogue.cz.

I like the painting as a whole but individually the covers don't really work

THIS THISSSSSSSS this is what makes me mad and to answer someone's post about ''What's wrong with Fashion nowadays?'' well folks this is it ahahaha :judge: : I mean let's be serious for a second:

These are fashion magazines, why on earth would they TRY to do something like this???
- for shock value?
- to do something different ''just coz''?
- to impress young readers who think this artsy s**t is cool NOW in 2021?
- to make themselves feel they are soooo good and creative and instead of showing clothes on a freaking magazine cover then it's better to show nothing?

The options are endless and hilarious but why would they even dare to tryyyyyy to do something like that when:
- magazines are closing left and right
- Condé Nast is restructuring heavily and wants to be lucrative (a.k.a reprint worldwide a lazy editorial and call it a contributive effort Lol :stuart:)

I'm speechless to see horrible covers like these in such a critical time for Vogue and magazines in general lol but hey : WHEN they close, they can only blame themselves. Next! :mohawk:
