Vogue France February 2025 : Natasha Poly by Willy Vanderperre

i don't understand, why is everyone having a problem with their interpretation of "timeless sensuality"?

Pheeeww, I'm torn. Timeless sensuality?! I want to like it because it's Miss Poly and I've missed on a Vogue France cover! So I'm happy to see her here, with a great team on top of that. But the styling, be it bold, is very questionable. Not a fan of the editorial either. But well, I guess I'm just happy to see Natasha.

Okay, I'm willing to sound picky to the max saying that I've never missed Natasha Poly on a Vogue France cover (and never will, proof is in this very same cover-pudding) but still miss her on Vogue Paris covers.
I still don't get how this magazine aims to survive. Hey, the beast does actually suffer a lot, it's kinda big time to put it down, no?
First we got all the most random cover topics ever possible. Alright, I took nonsense as the new direction. But lately, someone woke up there and realised there is a bunch of nostalgic people with a few bucks to spend in their glossy when key-words like 'Natasha Poly', 'Steven Meisel' or 'Lara Stone' or even 'Iselin Steiro' appear somewhere on the cover. Even on low-class full-diet budget, I'm hundred percent sure they could have produced something a million times better than this masquerade.
Where will this stop? Will we see one day a Vogue cover like 'AI-recreated Ruslana wearing a blend of Miu Miu's and Balmain's latest items' ? I hope not but as the bad-taste train's pace is set to keep its full speed for a while, we should fasten our seatbelts for the next level of disgusting lows.

Choosing the shot where Natasha Legend Poly is wearing those awful Prada sunglasses for the cover where you can barely recognize her? That’s such a setup. And the new editor needs to fire that Alastair McKimm guy he’s always been absolutely terrible at his job.

I read the title: Happy that finally, we get a model, solo, on the cover of Vogue, and it's an established model at that.
Open the thread and see the plain, uninspired cover showcasing horrible clothes: close thread in despondent resignation

Why put someone as iconic as Poly on the cover only to cover up her face?
The disrespect ...PURE SABOITAGE !
They did my girl Natasha so dirty her worst VF cover and its not even her fault the art direction and styling is such a mess her

I think I’m the only one, but I actually like it.

I’m never usually a fan of Vanderperre’s work, but I really like the clean, graphic feel of this. The styling is quite ugly, and I don’t like that particular element on its own, but for the overall effect of the cover it doesn’t bother me - it’s kind of futuristic looking.

And finally there’s a magazine with a cover layout design that I can appreciate it. Really enjoyed the typography on the previous cover and I’m glad to see it’s stuck around here - it’s very chic to me. I’ve been finding cover layouts so unappealing in recent years, but I like this direction. I hope we’re not looking at white backgrounds only for the foreseeable future, but I have to say I’ve enjoyed these 2 most recent covers.

I actually don't dislike it. Is it a waste of Natasha Poly to cover her face? Yes, undoubtedly. But it's an eye-catching photo, with a challenging styling, and in my opinion she looks amazing in the editorial.

Does the cover match the editorial? No. I wish there was this connect and maybe another cover photo, but nonetheless, it's a yes for me!

Well said!!!

In a landscape full of the most Boring Basic covers, at least they tried....it's FASHION.

I don't hate it, but the only thing that they could've at least fixed is the light reflection on her sunglasses.

Nevertheless, I don't mind this cover. I'm happy that Natasha's back on French Vogue, though they could have given her a better shoot concept.

I really like their recent change.

you need to try hard to pick such a dream team and get such sh*tty nonsence. this minimalist approach which MckKim practiced at i-d has nothing to do with vogue france, which was never about minimalism.
they changed direction though since december issue, i though it was just one special case. at least they have now a-list contributors, the result still sucks though
