Vogue Italia April 2023 : Kendall Jenner by Robin Galiegue

Not sur eif I like it or not. Needed a model that knows how to act and emote to make it convincing.

I genuinely don’t understand, she serves so much face on Instagram, but here there is NOTHING, in fact the OPPOSITE of how she positions herself online.

Insta's a different world, where she's in total control. On a shoot, you're part of a bigger picture, in every sense, and any deficiencies are harder to fill in.

I find Kendall can be a good cover girl, her ability to give a blank stare works in the circumstance where you need a simple close-up of someone just standing there. But beyond the cover, you'd lose hope. And when it comes to playing any character other than herself, it's not going to happen.

Like so many people working in the modelling world right now, she's a pretty girl, but she's just not bringing any magic into magazines.

I think it's really well done. I really like it. She looks great and it looks timeless. Great photography also.
That 2nd cover, she looks amazing.

She doesn't emote anything anythingggggg. Gosh ahaha I want to cry ahahaah.
There's no strong posing skills.
There's no drama or intention.
No eye or face or gesture.
The clothes don't look special and ultimately that's on her.
I've seen better new unknown models doing a much better job than this girl.
No hate, but why does she want to model if she ain't gonna do sh** ???? I truly wonder.
Couldn't she just create some makeup line, marry another celebrity and vanish?
If she wants to be a Model with a capital letter then she must deliver or get out of the kitchen.
That trend of not posing and looking blank isn't a skill, it's instagram level lol.
NEXT !

I like the composition of the last picture, but honestly the wall delivers more than the model.

The second cover looks like she got snapped after finishing her yoga workout at the gym. It radiates nothing.

The cover is a rip-off copy for the main edit from the Couture supplement of Vogue Italia March 1998 & the result is bad.

A few photos, look like a Halloween costumes catalogue.

The first cover is better as she is further
Kendall's been in the business for almost 10 years now and still gives nothing.
The problem is she is rewarded with contracts, shows and covers for giving nothing based on her name.

That is why she will never improve regardless of how humiliating some of her work is. There is no shame for her in how incompetent she is a decade later or that she is being hired over real models.

Another disappointment is the fact that this Kendal editorial (or part of it) was published in March's Vogue :( Another month, another reprint.

Her face just doesn't hold editorial makeup well at all. Or maybe I'm so accustomed to her snapshots in full contour and airbrushed beauty, her face shape/features are so "L.A. girl" that she feels completely out of place in this. She's just so... common, and isn't very effortless either.

I mean yeah she's got the expression of a deflated blow fish trying to smize, but for someone that has been pushed by magazines, editors and stylists (and of course a momager), surely someone would have had the smarts to tell her this trajectory isn't it, right?

Also her eyes looks so wet in this I find it really weird.

The original content (with no less than Jessica Stam) in VI? Doomsday is (dangerously) approaching, there is no other explanation… :grinning:
