Vogue Italia December 2024 by Rafael Pavarotti

learning that these are from a real fashion/influencer party and not a photoshoot just makes it even more cringe because what else is more annoying than a bunch of self professed "cool people" trying to show off how "authentic", "fun", and "in the moment" they are in front of a camera so evidence of their awesomeness can be posted all over social media to flex on us plebs

I think it's the whole editorial, amateur photos taken at a party, nothing artistic, nothing so beautiful, nothing to do with the Vogue Italia December 2017 issue (the one of Mert Marcus' party which I found magnificent). all the photos are in black and white

I want to steal buy all these issues and burn them. This is how much I hate the cover and concept behind it.

They tried to recreate the Celebration issue from Dec 2017 and failed horribly

So... Vogue Italia threw a big party for their 60th anniversary and then used party photos as the cover. Honestly, this feels lazy and cheap for Vogue. This kind of thing might work for a niche indie magazine, but not for a brand known for high fashion and creativity. It’s a disappointing move for such a big milestone.

What a lazy concept, the photos are instagram worthy at best. Liked Anok's and always a pleasure to see Alek back. Surprised that Angelina who is arguably one of the biggest breakout stars didn't get a cover, they could've replaced Alex and Paloma for me.

They really don't get it, jesusss. Honey, you are part of the fabric of social media. You're just seem as cool because of it and to people who browse insta everyday. Have some self awareness. And you (the photographer and Kuntie Grant) are part of the problem. Churning out disposable, mediocre work in a magazine that was the opposite of that.

I was thinking about it these days and it's worth saying: bring back illustrators! Give them space. Cause fashion photographers got nothing to say anymore.

I just saw it on newstands..super meh! I repeat party pictures made it to Vogue cover…nothing worth…maybe the closeups were the most or o mean the least bad…Pavarotti it’s not Testino.

There is an article of a coffeetable book called Il Sogno for Vogue Italia’s 60th anniversary…300 pages…sp should be kinda interesting…they say its an homage to Franca but i guess it’s just only words.

Also two eds that i think are original for this issue…again nothing worth buy…

Vogue Italia finish the year on a low note, at lesst it’s coherent cause that’s how they started this 2024…

Some snaps, sorry but i was in a hurry…not the best..

My library's digital copy has the Paloma cover, it's showing 180 pages. Inside front cover ad is Dior.

The Imane Khelif story from Vogue Arabia is reprinted at the front of this issue, there's also an editorial, Street Style Milanese, shot by Mauricio Sierra (as seen in Xone's last snap above) which comes across as a very mild satire of Italian style. There's also a reprint of the 'feathery lashes' beauty editorial from US Vogue.

The main editorial section (the cover shoot) goes on for ages and fails to entice. It's followed by a fashion editorial, Dove il tempo si ferma, shot by Tom Johnson (see Xone's second-to-last snap).

Then there's a reprint of one of the US Vogue 'dance' editorials, and a reprint of the current UK Vogue editorial with Lulu Tenney.
