imho Vogue Italia is seriously loosing 'it'
this pictures are cool, but i kind of see what you're talking about lena... i think this pictures are vogue italia trying to hard to be i-D

right, toohip..

i was always looking at Vogue Italia to check new directions and fresh atmosphere.. but not anymore
since maybe a year or so, its just another cleverly edited magazine but the images are getting a bit 'last month's news' to put this mildly..

imo its all because of meizel but its certainly not his fault
mrs sozzani should get a bit more 'experimental' when choosing Vogue Italia photo-teams, there are so many talented new photographers out there.
true that Vogue Italia doent sell as much as it should, but by going so mainstream but at the end, it will loose all it's faithful followers

^you're right lena

what about a change from meisel? he has defined the vogue italia aesthetic for too long, to the point that it has become a bit tired... as you said, there are so many young talented photographers out there

I don't think it's bad, just a little too familiar... i'm impressed Meisel could pull 70 pages worth of inspiration from a theme that's been run to the ground too many times to count..:ninja:

Wow for the longest time I thought the model on the left side of the cover was a girl, or a manlier Iselin. Now i know for sure it is a guy, Its Jarrod Branch

My goodness! His jawline is pretty male (even though those lips create confusion), his shoulders are of a size never seen in women (huge) and his hips are the size of a peanut (seldom seen in women). He's just got some long hair, pretty make-up and a Brazilian bend going - otherwise he is most definitely very very male (and hot too). Kind of reminds me of cult hottie Joe Dallesandro... pix from www.torr.org/ moz (I think Joe is very dear to Morrissey).

of course he would look like joe dallessandro... it's steven meisel, after all... :P

I hadn't noticed that Meisel's male models looked like Joe :P In fact I'm not sure they do - this guy is the first one I've seen who has that really really sexy androgynous rock star look. Most male models aren't very....errr....inspiring to me. You know, comparing them to rock stars they just seem kinda too readily submissive, if that makes any sense. I prefer boys with a severe adrenaline rush addiction, rather than those strange overgrown male cherubs the fashion industry seems to adore. Jarrod looks like he's nobody's b*tch, he's far from cherubic and, well, he's VERY :woot:

its off topic, but i need to admit
..i've always been in love with Joe Dallesandro
thanks for posting those pics iluvjeisa

the cover is bit, well, test your non-fashion-intrested friends, ask them to pick out the girl/girls from the cover :ninja:
