Vogue Italia January 2012 : Caroline, Daria & Paula by Steven Meisel

Guess I'm alone in seeing Gisele Bundchen, instead of Christy Turlington?

wow, late to know this, GREAT for Daria S.!!! :buzz:

BTW, I do NOT think the lady in red is Christy

A shame Caroline is in the background but i'm happy to see her in a VI cover after so long.
A lot of the Meisel faves fade after a couple of years but unlike those girls i'm sure she's going to continue to book US vogue eds back to back in years to come so in the end it's all good.

Daria looks good too. Overall i like the cover.

I thought Linda Evangelista as the red lady but with a slimmer face lol but since now Vogue28 said its Giselle...I also see it!

^ tottaly agree with you!

Good concept, but this got to be the most filled of text cover that Vogue Italia has done! They allways use very few words on their covers wich is brilliant, because we see the work of the photographer.... but this cover..... THEY WENT CRAZY with it!

And that lady in red strikes more than Daria because the background and the scheme of colors is too light, cream, peach & white .... and then she appears, giving life to this cover, and my eyes go straight to her! Who is she?!

Meisel nails this!! :woot:This is the kinda of cover I love from VI, innovative and striking and different than the rest, very excited to see the main editorial now!:D

I don't like this cover much.
But the lady in the red looks nice.

It's most likely not her, but could the lady in red be Daria Werbowy?

DARIA!!!!
Im so happy, and Im so in love.
This remind me the mid oo´s work with the social critique. This is the perfect cover and with the perfect models. Please make it an all blond editorial...
The only thing i would done different would be just take down a headline but its still good.
~
I believe that this is an amazing way to start the year for Vogue Italia, this is perfect cover for sure and i cant wait for the editorial

Love the concept! The mysterious lady in red...It definitely looks like a 90s model. Pretty sure not Christy or Gisele though.

^The lady in red is not a blonde so it's most likely not an all blonde editorial.

^I dont believe the red girl is in the ed as everyone says. I also see some Gisele but who would put Gisele on the cover and not even show her face.
I believe that this is one of that prada f/w 2010 case where veryone wanted to know who was black model on the background but in the end she was not in the ad. I think this woman will be just a part of the ed and not really a model in it if you know what i mean

for me the lady in red is Christy.
I quite like this mainly because of Carol and can't wait to see the content.

she's is on the cover so why shouldn't she be in the ed? But I guess we will have to wait and see.

^There are also people on vogue italia january 2011 cover and they are not a part of the ed thay are just on the ed.

Very happy for Daria. She was total filler to me at first, but I think that 2012 will make her, she's a good print model so hopefully Meisel can push her to be even better in the coming year. Conceptually, I wonder if this is also having a go at US mags with all that horrific text. January is usually a highpoint for Meisel's VI eds so hopefully this will be crammed with models and a good execution of this home shopping concept.

I was confused when I saw the random text behind the vogue logo.

I like the concept.
