Vogue Italia January 2012 : Caroline, Daria & Paula by Steven Meisel

^ Doubt it also, but it would be amazing.

Anyhow nothing short of interesting with this cover and Daria is always a pleasure. I'm assuming the main editorial is gonna be pretty special, if they are going down the same route.

Great cover! If Vogue Italia is consistent with past January issues, this should be a great one!

It's a pretty good cover. Is the stuff on the bottom of the cover actually a part of it? If so that kind of ruins it for me.

HATE The cover, look cheap, no are funny.

I like the idea and the humor of the cover, but what seems off is the use of Chanel dresses. If they are going the TV home shopping route then a more down-to-earth label should have been used or more casual clothes from Chanel, or alternatively if they wanted to stay in the luxury space, a site like Net-a-Porter should have been used as the inspiration or the homepage of a label with an aggressive web strategy / presence like Burberry or Dolce and Gabbana.

I think the red dress is such a distraction to the concept.

On the other hand, Daria is on a high! She's getting a lot of really acclaimed jobs these past few weeks and this one is no exception. Great job!

I love the idea of the cover, but Daria looks so short and plain!
I think the editorial will be better!

the lady in red is indeed stealing the show, but its hard not to when everything is white and pink and she is in bright red. meisel def didn't do that on accident.

I wonder if this is a new thing for VI. The last two January issues have been runway inspired as well (the one with Arizona and Freja in the old fashioned runway show and then the karlie kloss wiping out on the runway ed). Three runway inspired January eds in a row.

I also love it when Meisel does his parody editorials. Its when he is at his best. I can't wait to see the full editorial, I bet its gonna be hilarious.

not sure about this cover yet, i actually would of preferred it without the woman in red

Marvelous, Meisel's creativity and sense of humor does wonders again. Can't wait for the editorial.

According to comment by administrator of VI page, Caroline Trentini is indeed model on the background and the lady in red is just an appearance.

Thanks to Velijko Gavrilovic about this info.

I like the cover, good when Meisel has this crazy ideas. Can't wait to see the cast of the editorial.
The model in red dress looks like Elsa Benitez to me

It was obvious that the girl in red was just an appearence, its like you dont remember last january ed, it was the same thing.

I don't understand this relationship between Meisel and Daria S, she's another blonde, she doesn't offers nothing new.

^I'm just grateful he's over with Anna J. and Toni Garrn, that was a dull period.

really? i love daria´s face. its so interesting, what i love about it is that she has deepness in her face and i think thats why Meisel likes her

For me, a brilliant idea but a dull reality - other than the lady in red, I find the fashion and the models totally forgettable. But in a way, perhaps that's the point, because home shopping isn't known for its cutting-edge excitement, it's supposed to be bland and generic. So I'm interested to see where the editorial goes with this theme, to put the cover shot in context.
